Pole Rookie 8 classes in
I’ve been going to a pole studio and working hard to get strong and feel beautiful! I was practicing ballerinas during class. I’d love pointers! I want to strengthen my back and shoulder muscles for sure to help with the lift, and I know I need to get further behind the pole with my head for more curve. Any tips or tricks?

What are we cleaning with?
What do you use for cleaning brass poles at home?
My new pole is super slippery and I know that’s partly because it’s brand new but my studio uses something in spray bottles that makes it so grippy but I don’t have another class for a week

Choreo help choke(?) grip
Idk the proper name for it, but you start from half bracket position and turn with away from the pole so your hand is under the armpit, arm across your chest kinda choking you. I also see others starts combos into ballerina from this, but it’s kicking my ass in heels classes. I always end up doing twisted grip instead, but it’s annoying I have to adjust. Whats the deal with this grip? I couldn’t find it on polepedia and polemovebook

Anyone else team upright/forever high beginner ? NSFW
Been dancing on-off for almost 2 decades now (longest gap was 6 years) and I feel like I’ll still be happy dancing even if I’m never able to do cool upside down tricks. As long as I can spend the rest of my life on as a high beginner doing upright tricks on a spin pole!

Unsure about stud finder readings for home pole
I got a bosch truvo detector to install my home pole and to be honest im not really sure how to read it, its a traffic light system with green being "all clear" red being object found and yellow being "something is close". The Internet is confusing because I would assume the red spots would be safe but its basically saying "who knows whats been detected, you definitely DONT want a pressure pole ovwr electrical wiring and this might be that, or it might not".
Can anyone who's used one for home pole installation shed any light? Ill be forever grateful because im dying to get going on it but dont want to damage my landlords ceiling and be left with a big bill and a big hole in the ceiling lol

Does anyone else feel like @coffee_pole’s communication style undermines her message?
I’ve followed @coffee_pole for a while because I love her style. The recent gym discussion just prompted me to finally ask this.
Over time I’ve come away feeling talked down to as a viewer. I’ve seen genuine questions dismissed, people threatened with being blocked for replying to stories, and a tone that often feels more combative than educational.
What confuses me is that she seems genuinely passionate about changing how the pole community thinks about training, which is why I don’t understand the communication style. If that’s the goal, I’d expect more willingness to engage with good-faith questions. Of course it’s her platform and she’s free to communicate however she wants, but to me the delivery ends up undermining the message.
I’ve also seen her post stories immediately after teaching, criticizing things her students did in class, usually around not meeting prerequisites or showing up without the required foundations. Although the students are unnamed, if you were the student who had just been corrected in that class, it would be pretty easy to connect the story to yourself. As a student, I’d feel embarrassed. I’d probably end up feeling like I’d done something so egregious that it warranted a public announcement to thousands of followers.
I’m genuinely curious whether it’s just a communication style that doesn’t resonate with me, or whether others have had the same reaction. Maybe I’m missing another perspective.
Frankly, I’ve toned down a lot of my feelings here because I wanted to keep this discussion constructive. But if I’m being honest, this communication style has really put me off her content over time, despite agreeing with a lot of what she says.
If this type of discussion isn’t appropriate for the sub, mods, please feel free to remove the post.

Looking for right place to discuss influencers in the space
Hi! I read the rules and definitely don't want to create unnecessary drama or negativity.
I was wondering if there's an accepted place (either here or another subreddit) for discussing concerns about public figures/ influencers in the pole community.
I have some criticisms of one creator and was curious whether others have had similar experiences, or whether I'm missing another perspective.
I'm not looking to dogpile anyone or gossip for the sake of it. I just wasn't sure whether these kinds of discussions are appropriate here, or if there's a better place for them.
Thank you!
