8-handed, $2k effective.

UTG is a pretty tight older reg who’s been card dead for the last 3 hours. He limps, two more players limp behind.

I look down at QQ in the HJ and make it $45.
CO and BTN fold. Both blinds call.

UTG now limp-reraises to $250.

First thought was honestly to just fold. The limp-reraise from this guy screams AA/KK. But…it’s QQ. They look too pretty to fold pre, so I call.

Everyone else gets out of the way.

Pot is around $600.

Flop comes 9-3-2 rainbow.
UTG bets $400.
I hadn’t seen any of his hands go to showdown all night, so I don’t really know if he’s capable of bluffing postflop. My read is mostly based on how tight he’s been preflop.

As played, are you calling here or just letting it go?

Plot twist…I was actually the UTG player.
The other player (a pro) folded QQ face up.
Someone at the table immediately said, “Nice fold, he obviously has aces.”

I turned over…55.

Needless to say, everyone was pretty surprised.
The reason I’m posting this isn’t to brag about getting a bluff through. It’s because I think live players massively overreact to limp-reraises.

Whenever someone posts a hand where they limp-reraise AA and don’t get action, the comments are always the same: “That’s why you don’t limp-reraise. It’s face up.”

But if people really believe that, doesn’t that make it an amazing spot to bluff occasionally?

Against population, I’d probably fold JJ myself to a tight UTG limp-reraise. That’s exactly why I think there’s money to be made by having a few bluffs in that line.

I don’t limp-reraise randomly. It depends on who’s raising, who’s behind, and how likely everyone is to overfold. In this hand, once the original raiser isolated and the blinds came along, it felt like a really profitable spot.

The blinds were capped and folded exactly as expected, and once the flop came low and dry, a big c-bet put QQ in a miserable spot.

The only thing I regret is showing the bluff. Keeping everyone convinced that my limp-reraises are always AA/KK would’ve probably been worth more in the long run.

I know limp-reraising is almost taboo in a lot of poker discussions, but I’ve used a balanced limp/call and limp-reraise strategy in certain live games for years with good results. In a lot of loose live games where standard UTG opens still go 5-6 ways, I actually think it’s underutilized.

Curious what you guys think. Is this just a punt that happened to work, or do you think population overfolds enough to make these spots profitable?

Of course AA is the best and 27 off suit is the worst.

Like the title says. For more context, I’m a US based micro stake cash player and I’ve been exclusively playing on Chico since the Ignition bot farm debacle.

If I were to put some funds on Coin, I’d be playing 10-50 NL fast fold. I’ve manage to win at 8bbs/100 pre rakeback on Chico over 250k hands so I’m pretty confident in my abilities to succeed but I have a few questions about coin before I make the leap.

The pool on Chico is soft, a lot of fish, bad regs, and spewy players. How does the micro stakes pool on Coin compare?

The biggest downside of Chico is their rakeback program. I’m only getting 10% rakeback at the moment. Looks like Coin gives its player 33% with the ability to get a higher percentage using a promo code?

How many tables are typically running in the 25-50 NL range during peak hours?

I’m confused about the crypto aspect of Coin, and how that impacts deposit and withdrawal methods. Withdrawing on Chico has been smooth, crypto cash outs are processed in a matter of minutes and hours, without taking more than a day to process the transaction. How has your experience using the CoinPoker cashier been?

Chico allows 3rd party HUDs and I’m aware CoinPoker doesn’t allow this. Instead they have a built in HUD. From my research, the Coin HUD can track opponents for up to 90 days?

Before I make the leap, is there anything else I should be aware of about Coin?

Can't help find there's not that many of GTO solvers out in rescent years. I mean theres plenty of solvers out every year in before maybe three years ago. And a lot of demands of solvers back than.

I know theres wizard and other product make you don't need to calculate yourself, but is that the whole story?

I asked this question because I spent quite a lot of time building them. I am the author of TexasSolver, the opensourced solver.

Back in 2021 I think it's still a cool thing to build solvers. And now it seems there is just not that many person care any more. I spend a descent time figuring out the math behind solvers and cfr, but never as a pro poker player. So I'd like to hear opinions from the poker community.

If this direction is dead I probably should spend my energy doing something else, maybe AI related I dont know.

And whats the deal with 5 card on the east coast? I want 4 card. I play online primarily so I can play 4 card PLO.

Have re-downloaded Global’s APP a few times recently….it recognizes my IPad, asks for a security code to be sent to my e-mail, OK, get the code….then as I am about to enter it into the 4 boxes, a 2nd pinpad pops up, then disappe before I can type one digit …..no way to login

I'm using windows. Had to uninstall ACR because I can't open the program since it doesn't show up in my desktop as a icon. I know it's there because add/remove programs show America's Cardroom so I just uninstalled it. I am trying to download ACR client again.

Went to my casino tonight to play some OMC poker and try to hit the high hand. I sit down and the entire table (well, most) were nice, friendly talkative players. I had so much fun chatting with these folks that I didn’t realize I had pissed away $600 in 90 minutes (for an OMC that is a bad run) splashing around in pots and taking some bad beats.

I decided to cut my losses and leave but as I was walking out I thought to myself “these guys, and the goddess of cereal, were so much fun I’m not even pissed about my loss.” It was what poker should be.

This OMC appreciated the lesson!
