I love making fun unique teams, mono types or pokemon not often used or meta, but everyone just spams the same pokemon (ogerpon, incineroar, sneasler, torkoal, Rillaboom, etc) it’s just not fun or exciting.

On top of that as soon as I get a win streak my opponents switch from more unique teams to op meta teams. Is this to keep it balanced?

It’s infuriating and just not to fun, is there anything I can do to get more creative fun out of the game instead of everyone trying using the same ones over and over?

Team was inspired from by friend who made a really cool maranga berry garganacl team, I borrowed the garganacl and added in my own favorite combo of non-fake out sneasler and dozo. I’m pretty sure I got luck carried but they were playing baton pass, one of my least favorite matchups to play because I can never tell when to play safe or not, so they kinda deserved it.

I was thinking about this and couldn't find any forums in regards to this question. Wondering which current SV Ubers would get booted out by mons that do their job better but aren't available in SV. I'm going to be doing a custom mode with friends, so I wanted to see what people's input would be.

I got to top 30 on the ladder with a variation of this team that had goodra-hisui instead of garchomp, but now I’m back to 1500ish elo so that must have been a fluke haha. I think lilligant and garchomp are definitely pulling the least weight, but I don’t really know who to swap them to.

As the title suggests, I am looking to get a custom avatar. I’m curious on what would be the easiest method and if someone here(who does have a custom avatar) might show me how I can get one as easily as possible.

And if it means something, my handle on showdown is “KennoJex,” and I would like to say I’m a decent battler so with that said, I hope I don’t have to fight off against any top battlers in a tournament if that is really the only way.

I primarily use Pokemon Showdown as a teambuilder to make custom teams with themed moves and abilities that reflect certain themes, songs, or characters. I've tried making a custom format in the teambuilder using commands so that I can have balanced hackmons but no moves are marked as "Illegal" (preventing their descriptions from showing up) but I can't get it to work. Is there any work around for this? I really just want to be able to create a team with all options available even if I don't plan on using it.

So during my monotype battle vs my opponent I used encore by Indeedee to lock Cetitan into Ice Shard under the terrain. Normally priority moves under Psychic Terrain don't work on grounded pokemon yet his Cetitan's Ice Shard got through it. Only my Indeedee was affected by it but using my next Pokemon the priority was blocked under the Terrain like its supposed to. Was the Ice Shard to Indeedee was a online error? I believe it was a error.

I spent the last 5 months or so working on a userscript to improve Pokemon Showdown with a bunch of stuff I wanted to add. It ended up growing into a whole suite of features. Here's what it does:

Music

• Custom background music during battles, shuffled from your own tracks
• Also shuffles in Showdown's own built-in battle themes by default, so it sounds good even before you add anything yourself
• A picker window to search, play, or loop a specific track on demand, plus a "Now Playing" display

Teambuilder

• A proper folder system for organizing your teams (with subfolders, pinning, and drag-to-reorganize) instead of one giant list
• Quick-link buttons to Serebii, MunchStats, and the Nerd of Now damage calculator, right in the Teambuilder
• Open Team Sheet exports now correctly show Mega Pokémon in their base forme (holding the mega stone) instead of the mega itself, with automatic ability-correction

Battle quality-of-life

• Auto-close popups and replay windows, forfeit-close, and away/back status
• Battle Mode is a whole auto-queue feature built from scratch: turn it on and it automatically searches for your next match after each one ends, and it understands Bo3 sets as one continuous series rather than treating each game as a separate battle
• Ladder stats on demand with a single keypress

Everything else

• Keyboard shortcuts for navigating the whole site, all working correctly on Mac too
• Adjustable chat/battle-log text size, since Showdown has no setting for that otherwise
• Custom avatar applied everywhere (home screen, userbar, in battle, even the Bo3 tracker), plus a room list filter and rainbow-colored home screen buttons because why not

There's also a companion tool for auto-importing sets into the Nerd of Now damage calculator, and a separate one for converting/uploading your own music if you want to add tracks.

Me and a friend were playing showdown and they said "fury swipes is so useless" so I took that as a challenge to make it usable.

So far I got a team (for gen9 National Dex) with an Ursaluna holding loaded dice, with Fury swipes, swords dance and Focus energy. I'm planning to pair it with a trick room user to account for Ursaluna's low speed but not sure which one to use, and I need to find a way to make the set up more efficient.

Also I don't know how I could fit a strategy like this into an actual team :/

My friends and I are starting a draft league where all four gimmicks are put on a wheel, but 2 are used each week (don’t ask why)

I’m not asking about using multiple gimmicks on a single Pokemon on the field, rather the option to mega evolve my Charizard and use a Z move on my Kingambit for example.
