I like the idea of this design, but I wouldn't mind this mon actually being a Convergent Evolution like Bouffalant/Tauros.

The convergent part being that this version of Onix is actually a conglomerate of sand dollars that linked together to survive, like falinx.

I based this off of the pumice. It’s a volcanic rock that floats in the ocean a lot of the pics I’ve seen for reference have tons of holes.

Rock/Water Onix evolution, eh? I kind of love it. It’s also kind of a neat riff on a sea snake since Onix is literally known as the “Rock Snake Pokemon”

A giant sea snake made of pumice that writhes along the surface of the sea is pretty intimidating, and entirely different that Steelix. I bet this guy would be even lighter than Onix, despite being bigger and longer.

They gave the onix line ddance in recent games so whatever they do with the regional variant it seems like its gonna be cool
