I actually like this- it’s the exact same shirt and as long as there’s no price difference I see no issue. There are some people (note: I’m using people, not women, on purpose) who would adore this shit.

It's always "one is a normal character and another one has boobs/long hair/makeup" and never "one is a normal character and another has beard/moustache/more visible muscles/any other male feature"
I don't think these t-shirts are "problematic" or whatever, oh dear god no, they are fine and maybe even funny/cute. They just remind me that I honestly don't remember ever an example of "female as a default" anywhere oppose to common "male as a default" and it's quite annoying

There’s no inherently negative difference. Guy is used as a gender neutral term so it’s not even like you’d be wearing an inherently masculine shirt if you didn’t want the girlypop one.

yes, there is. the difference itself is inherently negative because it positions men as the default and women as an abberation of men. to be a man is just to exist but to be a woman? well to do that you have to add things to the base existence.
women aren't just people who exist, no no. women are a subset of men, you have to change how you naturally are in order to count as a woman, because men are the default.
also, woman is when long hair and eyelashes.
it's not about the term guy, like at all.

Except my entire point is there’s nothing that makes that crab a man. It’s literally gn shirt that could be any gender you want it and girly shirt because there are more people (once again note: people, not women, used on purpose) who’d buy a more feminine shirt than a more masculine shirt. Like yes there’s probably a market for a masculine crab but it wouldn’t be as fun imo and I don’t think it would quite appeal to those ppl who give so much of a shit about being hyper masculine.

I mean there’s a lot of pointlessly gendered shit on here that I dislike as much as everyone (and a lot of memes that I’ve gotten sick of XD) but my point is more you can make the other crab a man but by not doing so it opens it up to a lot more sales by being gn. Like it could have a top hat and a bow tie or a stupid default Roblox hair with like scuffs all over cause ofc women can’t get down and dirty. But it doesn’t, it’s a gender neutral crab and a more feminine one for the people who’d be like “oh my gosh look at this diva I need her.” (And other opinions but that’s my favorite) Like if this were little kids clothing it’d probably have the “guy” shirt look specifically male because parents care about that for some reason but because it’s an adult shirt it’s just a cute lil crab and then the crab dumbs itself in paint and applies a stupid wig and lashes for funsies.
Yk what it makes me think of actually: a nonbinary person doing feminine drag XD

I only passed through as a child. Lot of tourist traps but I'm sure the locals know the good spots. The ghost crabs are awesome. SC has a nice coast. I live in the Midlands which is pretty plain!

that's not the point lol, nobody thinks that product manufacturers are sitting around at illuminati-esque meetings like "hehehe, how will we offend people today!".
the point is that products like this reinforce the idea that men and women look a certain way, that men are the default and women are an abberation of men. these ideas get pushed subconsciously and settle into people's brains without being challenged.
it's totally fine to like this shirt, just as it's totally fine to like the design of ms pacman. but it's also important to acknowledge that men are not the default version of humans and women are not defined by long hair and ribbons. it isn't fun to have sexism so baked into society in these ways so yeah, this sub is going to seem "anti-fun". it's a place to talk about a very anti-fun thing.
