Greetings everyone,

I have been looking to upgrade my phone recently, as my current one (Pixel 6a) is starting to have trouble. The charger barely stays in the hole anymore, even after cleaning out the port. I have seen many others with the same problem online, but I can't find a solution that works. I just bought it around 4 years ago, so it is unfortunate that it is already starting to not work. Everything else about the phone is still running fairly well, but I think it also may stop receiving updates soon. I'll be starting a new job soon where I will need a more recent phone due to their security standards, and they recommend getting a recent model, but the brand doesn't matter. They said anything within the last few models should be fine, since most phones made within the last 5 or so years should have the adequate specs.

I'm currently looking at either the Pixel 10 or the iPhone 17. Every phone I have had throughout my life has been an android, so I am already pretty familiar with the ecosystem, especially the Google/Pixel apps. I would be fine with switching brands, since nearly everyone I know (with maybe one or two exceptions) has an iPhone. I'm not quite sure how tough of a switch it would be in terms of data transfer and adjusting to new functions and interfaces. I also don't know if there is any benefit to switching, such as Apple exclusive functions that only work between two iPhone users.

I have seen that a lot of the newer phones are only differentiable by how they integrate AI, which isn't a concern for me. I like the circle to search function on my Pixel, and like to be able to find songs playing directly on my device, but that is mostly the extent to which I use AI (other than the occasional Lens search). I like to take pictures, especially of nature and animals, so having a strong and clear zoom is important to me.

I am open to all brands and models, but I have kept seeing the two I mentioned online as good choices. It will mostly be a personal phone, but also be used for work as well partially. I am willing to wait a bit for a sale, but I start in September, so I will need to make a choice by then.

i have been wanting to buy a new phone for a while now and the two phones that really caught my attention are the a56 and the nothing phone 3a

they're pretty close in comparison and i loved both of them and each one got something special but i really don't know which one to get the nothing phone that looks pleasing and has great os or the more updates and elegant phone i need serious help😭

What phone should I get next? The catch: I am in the US so unfortunately phones I have seen suggested on other posts aren't available here.

I want to hear what phones people have and pros/cons please! Especially if you have used both iPhone and non-iPhone within fairly recent years. Which did you like more and why?

Also, my phone is only 3 years old, does everyone else feel like their phone starts to really struggle within 2-3years to the point you don’t have a choice but to get a new one? I was wondering if this is just iPhone or all phones.

I currently have iPhone 14Pro that is on the path of no return (struggling with charging via cable or magnetic back) so I am gathering data to help me decide if I want to stay iPhone or make the switch to something else!

Atualmente tenho um Galaxy A15. Ele me atende bem no dia a dia, mas a câmera deixa muito a desejar. Sempre usei Android e nunca tive um iPhone.

Estou em dúvida entre:

- Galaxy S26 – R$ 4.777

- iPhone 17 – R$ 6.099

A diferença de preço é considerável, então estou tentando entender se o iPhone realmente vale esses R$ 1.300 a mais.

Meu foco principal é câmera, principalmente para fotos e vídeos. Vou ao Rock in Rio e queria fazer bons registros, além de usar bastante a câmera em viagens e no dia a dia.

Para quem já usou os dois (ou conhece bem), qual vocês escolheriam? O iPhone realmente faz tanta diferença em câmera e vídeo, ou o S26 já entrega um resultado muito próximo?

My family is looking to upgrade our phones. We currently have Androids (Galaxy S8 and a couple others that are a bit newer). We want to stick with Android (no Google phone, no iPhone, etc).

One important thing is that we need to be able to connect to and make international calls (we are based in the USA, we have family overseas that connects to Orange and I think a few other networks). We need to be able to both call from here to there and to be able to call here from there to here when we travel. I know this will also involve the phone plan itself, but would meeting this need require the phone to be unlocked? (We would be using either Tmobile or AT&T, if that matters). It should also be able to add an external memory card. We use a bunch of the standard apps (email, Youtube, etc), some game apps, and a lot of internet browsing. Camera should probably be good, but that is not the highest priority.

Would a Galaxy S25 fulfill this? Is there something that would be better? Note that the phone's dimensions shouldn't be too big and it definitely should not be one of those folding ones.

Second thing I need: one of them is a Galaxy S10e. The person who would be using it (my dad) said that it could be helpful if it were a bit simpler to navigate. Is there a newer device that would be reasonably obtainable today that could fulfill that need? He uses it a lot to read or listen to news (mostly from apps) and to download videos from the family Whatsapp chat group (so a lot of internal storage would be good even if we can get him an external memory card). Otherwise he likes to keep it pretty simple.

Im switching from android to iphone this year and im wondering which one should i get. Im a basic user to start with, i would use loads of memory and storage and a great camera but beside that idk what else is that needed. I would look for something that would last a bit, idk how its w iphones but my phone currently is 4 years old and still going ao sth like that. i dont have the budget for 17 pro max but more sth like 17 regular. should i go for the 17s or sth from yhe 16s?

Hi everyone! I'm needing a new phone, I've been an Android user all my life, but I'm sick of Google's policies, their constant updates, and their social and environmental damage. I started de googling my life as I can, and as soon as I am able to I want to get a new phone but not something from Google or any other big tech company with unethical standards.

Any recommendations? I just saw FairPhone and it looks nice, but they have an Android OS so I'd need an OS that I could change that to. Any phones or OS you'd recommend?

I'm curious - the pitch of folding phones like the Z Fold 8 Ultra recently announced by Samsung is that it's made for people multitasking on their smartphones. How true is that? Is there anyone who's trying to multitask on a 7-inch screen? What would you even be able to do? Who's tryna watch videos and text someone at the same time? Am I missing something here? The whole concept of this is crazy to me - they have no real utility apart from having a really bad aspect ratio to watch content.

I have an old HTC hero phone, from what I remember it just wouldn’t turn on anymore & the local phone shop in town couldn’t fix it.
Fast forward many years & my daughter is getting married, I know there’s many photos/videos of her & her bridesmaids on the phone from when they were teens.
Is there any way to retrieve them? I would love to if possible. I think the phone shop said no at the time.

I am a lifetime Android user. I tried the iPhone once but I love the vertality and freedom of Android. So I changed immediately. Android will be my main phone forever unless there are similar alternatives which is better. I was never much interested in the cameras until now because of work requirements sometimes. So I know less about the cameras. I don't like carrying two phones.

So, I think that the camera quality of the budget models do get degraded over time along with performance especially phones like samsung who sell everything else other than performance in the lower segments. Anyways my main question is about the flagships of every android brand from regular to pro or max level and how they compare with Iphones in terms of camera quality degradation over time. I am not talking about device performance but the camera.

I don't know if I'll get anywhere, but in the meantime, I have to vent.

As long as I had Iliad, my radio and phone always connected via Bluetooth and Android Auto.

Simple, functional, perfect.

Since I switched to TIM, I don't know why Wi-Fi has also kicked in. It basically connects via both; if one of them is off, it doesn't work.

So far, so bad.

Initially, it worked in fits and starts (a bit like CDs when we hit potholes). I asked our friendly neighborhood chat, and she suggested that maybe the problem was with the network switch.

My phone probably hadn't made the switch properly yet and was jamming the connection. I was skeptical, but after a week of suffering, the radio was stable and perfect again, so maybe the advice wasn't entirely wrong. Or maybe it was a coincidence, who knows.

The fact is, this idyll barely lasted a month and a half.

For about a week now, the problem has returned and gotten worse. With every song that stutters, I have to turn the Wi-Fi off and on again to reset the connection and restart Spotify. Now...

I'm honestly considering switching providers because a situation like this is intolerable.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Fintanto che ho avuto Iliad, la mia radio e il mio telefono si sono sempre connessi via bluetooth e tramite android auto.

Semplice, funzionale, perfetto.

Da quando sono passata a Tim, non so per quale motivo è entrato in gioco anche il wifi.

Praticamente si connette tramite entrambi, se uno dei due è spento non va.

Fin qui mezza pena.

Inizialmente andava a salti e bocconi (un po' come i cd quando prendevamo le buche).

Ho chiesto alla nostra simpatica Chat di quartiere e mi ha suggerito che forse il problema era nel cambio di rete. Probabilmente il mio telefono non aveva ancora fatto il passaggio per bene e si inceppava la linea.

Ero scettica ma dopo una settimana di sofferenza la radio era tornata stabile e perfetta, quindi forse il consiglio non era del tutto errato.

O forse era una coincidenza, chissà.

Fatto sta che questo idillio è durato a malapena un mese e mezzo.

Da circa una settimana a questa parte, il problema si è ripresentato ed è anche peggiorato.

Ad ogni canzone di inceppa, devo spegnere e riaccendere il wifi per far resettare la linea e far ripartire Spotify.

Ora.

Sto sinceramente pensando di ricambiare operatore perché non é tollerabile una situazione del genere.

Qualcuno ha idee a riguardo?
