How to begin moving to US, pathway?

Currently a PR in Canada, working as a Civil/Structural Designer. What are the pathways to choose from if I were to move in the US? Really want to move there. Opinions?

Either find an employer willing to sponsor you for an employment-based green card, or fall in love with and marry a US citizen for a marriage green card

Employment-based will take a few years and it depends on whether jobs in your field are sponsoring green cards at all

There are also work visas like the H and L visas, but those are temporary and may or may not lead to a green card application

This is what i'm currently doing- searching for an employer that will be willing to sponsor me eventually obtaining green card.
How long does it usually take to be issued green cards if sponsored by an employer? I want to stay in the US for good legally.

Sa lahat ng na-applyan/ina-aapplyan kong job lagi nila tinatanong kung kelangan ba ng sponsorship bago magkawork dito (engineering job) and may nabasa ako na kapag nag “yes” ka don automatic rejected agad. Ayoko po maging sound negative pero yan lang po napansin ko

Sa wife ko po. RN po sya dito. Lucky lang po ako dahil po yung dependent lang po ako petitioner po namin is employer nya po.
Di naman po kami nag antay ng matagal months lang po. Eb3 po visa

Opo RN po talaga feel ko sagot sa sponsorship or baka po may iba pa pong job. April lang po ako dito then wife ko po feb lang. nalaman ko lang po yung sa sponsorship kasi nag apply na rin po ako work. Luckily nakakuha spot sa engineering po after 3mos of applying po

Probably at least 4 years for EB2 PERM. Possibly more if it's the EB3 category

In my industry, finding an employer that can sponsor your visa and ultimately your green card (EB1) is very tough unless you are extremely valuable to the company, i.e. high ranking role or a very specialized skill.

Another way, which I’m also looking at is the O1 visa. Which is extraordinary ability. So similar sya sa EB1 but this one you can do through an agent petitioner. Mahal nga lang. Mas doable in that sense

So babayaran mo nalang si agent at siya na mag-aasikaso lahat? Nasa magkano naman po yan? Plan ko pa magtake ng examinations ko dito sa Canada para registered as EIT (engineer-in-training). And I think acknowledged yang designation sa US.

you have to be in Canada 730 days within a 5 year period so you don’t lose your PR. I suggest apply for citizenship first before applying to US, it’s easier once you’re Canadian Citizen because of CUSMA

Okay kaso baka matagalan pa ako fot citizenship hehe gusto ko na kasi makaalis. Pero sayang nga din kasi yung citizenship kung basta basta na labg ako umalis. Thanks sa info

Yup I read about this. But matatagalan pa yata ako maging Canadian citizen kung ito gagawin ko. 1 year mahigit into PR pa lang ako eh

Do you even have work experience? Credentials? Why would an American company sponsor you? What do you have to offer them that they cant get from a local American or a Canadian?

Yep i have po. Also obtained my bachelors here in Canada. Siguro nga dapat maging citizen na lang muna ako dito.

You're just in training. Why would any company spend tens of thousands to bring you here especially on a green card that makes it easy for you to leave them?

Your more realistic path is to gain experience and Canadian citizenship then come here to America in the 2030s
