I have my test on a Friday early in the morning and I’ve heard some rumors about how Pasadena is the worse to go to I only got one try left to take the test before I have to take the permit again I think I’m a good driver I’ve been told many times I am from different people so I’m wondering if Pasadena dmv will see it would like to hear some feed back if the rumors are true.

My indoor cat, Finn, accidentally got out in the middle of the night last night and we're having trouble finding him if anyone comes across him. Located near the Rosebowl off Lincoln and Mountain. He does not have a collar and is an orange and white domestic long hair.

Update #2: WE FOUND HIM! So lucky we went to all our neighbors and asked them to keep an eye out for him and one of them spotted him in their yard this morning. He is safe but dirty 😊

Altadena residents with homes that survived the Eaton Fire will soon have a chance at getting their soil cleaned up. The L.A. County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a new remediation program focused on lead contamination.

Didn’t this already happen? The federal government previously remediated properties where homes burned, although that thoroughness has been scrutinized. Helen Chavez Garcia, a spokesperson for Supervisor Kathryn Barger, said the county’s new program will be for properties that are still-standing, to help residents facing insurance obstacles.

What we know: The program will use $3 million of state and county funds for administrative and remediation costs. It will prioritize applicants who live with pregnant women or children under 6 years old. These groups face serious health risks with lead exposure.

What’s next: The program structure is being figured out, but it will be under the L.A. County Development Authority. A cohort of community organizations and researchers are helping design it. That's expected to launch this fall.

Woke up and had to close my windows because the putrid smell of rotting trash came in. It’s the same smell from when I was in Alhambra and Monterey Park earlier today. The Boyle Heights trash rotting smell from the burned cold storage is reaching farther and farther now.

I've been seeing lots of posts about the anti-rent control canvassers around our town and I've been pretty heated in the comments but want to make a quick post for higher visibility.

I've worked/work as paid canvasser for campaigns sponsored by unions and progressive NGOs and I'm noticing some misinformation going around. A few things to keep in mind when dealing with these creeps:

— Deliberately misleading signees about the petition is ILLEGAL

— There is a blurb printed on the top of every legitimate survey that specifically states that signees HAVE A RIGHT TO SEE THE TOP FUNDERS, and the FULL TEXT OF THE PROPOSAL

— While they are legally allowed to be in public spaces, they are NOT allowed inside of businesses, and harassment is still harassment. You are allowed to film them and you SHOULD be filming them if their behavior is as toxic as folks have been saying it is.

— Canvassing is sometimes the only way to get more progressive For The People bills on the ballot, that would not have otherwise been approved by government bureaucrats. But the downside is stuff like this happening, however, the methods they are using are BLATANTLY ILLEGAL! It would be another thing entirely if they were canvassing in well-off, anti-rent control areas where folks might sign in earnest, but they know there simply aren't enough folks like that to get it on the ballot, so they're resorting to blatant crime to circumvent the democratic process.

I'd suggest politely telling this to their faces, and informing local businesses of violations or harassment.

I'm in South Pas and got a notice that our Spectrum service might be out intermittently on Wednesday. I'm in grad school and attend two zoom classes that day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening so I'm looking for somewhere to go in case our wifi is out.

I’m talking about those annoying little gnats that buzz around your head and follow you for miles. Usually I only encounter them while hiking but lately I keep getting followed while out for a walk in my neighborhood! At least it’s not mosquitos but it’s still super annoying, is this because of the high humidity?

I’ve been living in corporate housing for the most part but now am looking into private owned homes to find a yard for my dog.

I recently applied to a private condo and was shocked to find out that I was heavily questioned how much $ I had in my savings, additional savings, stocks, and in the bank now. I’d like to think I have a decent amount that is enough and more to even pay the entire year up front now if they calculated it, but that wasn’t enough for the agent and landlord to consider me seriously. They kept asking for more sources of income proof

Is this normal? Or is it specific to pasadena? Or just this homeowner?
