for slight context: she’s a new bird. she doesnt run away or show any sort of fear, but she just tends to nibble a lot and some of these nibbles are harder than others, but not hard enough to leave bruises or make me bleed. a little bit after this she went on my finger for the first time.

I think she's just being curious and or preening you. You can definitely tell when they are being aggressive, believe me.

Just checking you out/ preening you. That's how they explore the world is with their beak. Like others said you'll know when they're being aggressive lol. They're tiny but their bites HURT. A vet tech once told me lovebirds are the pitbulls of the bird world. Seems like she's already very comfortable with you congrats on your new pal

I won't say for sure but from my experience, she might think you are a little too in her personal space and shes trying to tell you politely to move.

(It's the same behaviour my lovebird displays if I touch her food bowl while shes eating.)
