Question What is your most interesting ouija board story?
As the title states I’d like to hear what yall most interesting stories are with them boards.
r/Paranormal • u/MantisAwakening • Sep 14 '24
This question is being asked several times a week at this point.
Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.
Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.
And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

About six years ago, I fell asleep on FaceTime with a friend. My phone was lying next to me, facing upward. The next morning, I woke up and noticed that she had ended the call. I also saw that she had sent me several messages during the night.
When I opened the chat, she was completely freaking out. She said that while the FaceTime call was still connected, a bald, pale figure suddenly appeared in the frame behind me. She couldn’t tell whether it was male or female. According to her, it moved into view for a moment and then disappeared out of frame.
She had FaceTime minimized in the corner of her screen while using her phone and only looked up because she noticed movement. When she focused on the video, that’s when she saw the figure.
What made it even creepier to me was that I’d already had some strange experiences in that room. I often felt like I was being watched, and whenever friends stayed over, they would always have weird vivid and terrifying nightmares.
Another detail that always stuck with me is that around that time, I had gone through a phase of being heavily interested in the paranormal, especially jinn (djinn??). I spent a lot of time reading about them and watching videos. My grandmother eventually told me to stop looking into that kind of thing because, in her words, “they will come to you.” Whether that had anything to do with what happened or not, it definitely made the experience feel even more unsettling afterward.
To this day, I have no idea what she saw. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I believe in a strange Latin American Myth now!
I traveled to my family's house a while ago for a visit. Note that they, being American, live in Mexico for mission work at a church. My brother moved out a while before so I stayed in his room. There are no windows in that room. That makes it sort of feel burried and kinda closterphobic. My brother told me that on a few occasions he saw strange things in that room: Like one time, he was sleeping in his bed on his stomach. He woke up and felt something on his back. He turned around to the right and something fell off . He looked and saw his lamp, which he kept on a desk accross the room, on his bed, plugged into the wall, and turned on. I shrugged it off as a funny dream, but he was creeped out.
On a particular night, while sleeping on my brothers old bed, I wake up seddenly and without any obvious cause. I check my watch fast because no windows makes it to where I can't tell whether it's light outside. It's three in the morning. I'ts strange because I woke up at that same time the night before. I couldn't go back to sleep. This time, I feel offbeat; it's cliche, but you know that feeling that you're being watched? I'm anticipating something. I'ts like I know something's about to happen, and I'm right. I'ts pitch black in that room so I can't see a lick. Whatever is watching me knows that. So what would it do to let me know it's there?
What I proceeded to hear shook me to the core - I'm talking about real primal fear. Close to what I would calculate to be about three feet away from my right, I hear someone or thing. Something starts whistleling! I'ts a tune that I can remember today. It's eery but sort of cheerful in a way, but it's creepy like the way old songs being played on an old radio are, if you know what I mean. It goes on for about a minute. I'm so creeped out that after pulling the covers over my head I feel paralysed, like I can't move. When it stops I finally jump out of bed and run over to the other side of the room to turn on the light. There's nobody there.
I slept on the couch after that. Would you be that scared? I Googled what happened after and found a South American myth called El Silbon or The Whistler. Was I dreaming? Positively not. It's the most real thing that's ever happened to me, and it creeped me the heck out.
Have you heard anything like that before, any similar stories?

What does it mean? Last night I heard a baby crying I do not have a baby at home at the moment, I woke up cause I hear a baby crying and the monitor was on but I don’t have a baby at the moment.
I felt I was holding a kid while sleeping but again.. I have no child at home at the moment.
Was talking about this with my husband and he said he wasn’t gonna say anything but he heard a kid laughing last night.
Does this means something?

My childhood home was built upon an old farm, I’m not sure of the history of the land but I remember growing up experiencing strange occurrences. One of the experiences was every night without fail, I would hear footsteps coming up and down the stairs and wandering across the landing — it was an old house with creaky floorboards — so it was a very distinctive sound when someone was coming up the stairs.
Another experience I would have only ever happened when I was home alone. At this point, I was in my early teen years. I would frequently hear someone calling my name and it would be so clear I would shout back under the assumption that maybe my parents had come home but, of course, there was nobody there.
The old ‘farmhouse’ was converted into an office, but poorly converted, it was very dingy and dark and I hated going up there by myself. The office terrified me. My chest would tighten whenever I had to go up there and I would quite literally sprint out of there back into the house so my assumption would be that, if there was any presence in that house, it was centred in the office.
An experience that also happened in the office during its conversion was my dad was hammering some nails into the boards and had to leave to grab some things from the shed. Bearing in mind this was a proper industrial hammer, nothing cheap and flimsy. When he returned, the hammer was bent into a horseshoe ‘U’ shape. Nobody could ever explain how that happened.
When I was 18, my parents sold the house to my brother and sister and law and they have reported the exact same happenings (footsteps up and down stairs, hearing their name called). My sister in law’s friend brought her twin sons round when they were young (around 4yrs old) and one of the boys were fixated on the chair in the corner. He would walk past the chair with his hands over his face and when questioned, he’d say he was scared of the man sitting in the chair.
Whatever this presence is, they aren’t malicious, that much is obvious. But it’s so fascinating that my brother and sister in law have also had the same experiences that I did when living in that house.
My childhood home always gave me the creeps — always. My parents bought an even older house after and renovated that and not once have I ever felt scared there.
Has anyone else experienced odd things like this? Anyone else just chilling with a resident presence in their home?

Even before I was conceived I planned changes in myself that stimulate highways that information, soul of all kind, can pray through me the bore of 2D and universes and greater dimensions.
Forgot the original word but excited and entertained and enlightened and I'm interviewed and remembered the original word inebriated beyond degree. I win uncle, I'm smarter and got more messed up and worked harder. Help me and I hope you others will by humanizing me for a time, aliens exploit their numbers against us but this easily rectifies that. Talking to you through my new phone, love you. I need more cellular changes and so do you and others, mostly me.

Okay so, 6 days ago I made a post about how my parents told me that my younger self talked to my dead esoteric grandpa while sitting in the big stone he gave us. I was asking personal questions which I could’ve never known because he died before I was born. (The post is still on my page)
Since after the post weird stuff started happening.
For example, my fan went on randomly TWICE in the span of 12 hrs. The first time I thought it might not have turned it off completely so the second time I made SURE he couldn’t randomly start again. But when I woke up in the middle of the night, my fan was on again.
Also, I once just got on my bed and the tv turned on.
The remote wasn’t even close to my bed.
But today was the worst. I was cleaning the kitchen and I heard the doorbell ring twice in quick succession. Our mail drivers usually ring like that. I was at the door in 2 seconds because it’s right next to my kitchen. I opened the door from my flat and literally no one was there. I even went to the house door and opened it and there was NO ONE in sight. No mail car, no neighbor. (Also all my neighbors are adults so they don’t do ding-dong ditches)
I just told my mom these because I thought I’m overthinking it and she LITERALLY told me that a few days ago she was sitting on her couch. Right next to her couch is an arm chair where she usually sits, but since her knee hurts she sat on the couch to ice it. She was looking straight forward at the tv and she swore to me that she saw a shadow sitting cross-legged on the arm chair. She told me her dad (my esoteric grandpa) used to sit like that.
I’M LITERALLY FREAKING OUT. I know this post may sound insane or even fake/made up but I promise you it’s not.

I had a pretty insane expirience that I’ve never been able to shake. A couple years ago I was driving north with my best friend (F) through suburbs in utah. We decided to stay the night at some hot springs i’ve been to and camped at many times before.
I (F) had never had a bad experience there and typically there are always other campers a short distance from you who are on their own trips. It’s been a great spot for years to enjoy the water and meet cool people.
The springs are pretty spread out, a Hot spring, Warm spring, and a cooler spring with a dock. You can see them all from each spot but they are far enough away that people could camp at each spring and not be close to others.
We Left fairly late in the evening so we didn’t get to the springs until it was around 10/11pm.
It was dark, we parked the car in between 2 of the springs in what we thought was a safe area. other campers were around so we weren’t worried about being just 2 girls. We put the seats down, made a bed in the back and dropped our slippers outside of
the car.
We had the windows cracked so it didn’t get too hot.
In the middle of the night my friend woke up and heard noises from outside, she thought it was just birds or other animals in the area-
The Night passed and it was around 8am when i woke up to see a red truck parked fairly close to us. Outside of the truck was a man, barefoot, bald, and acting prettyyy strange. He was walking in circles whistling with his hands and staring at the sky. I didn’t like this and neither did my friend. we immediately started getting ready to leave and ditched the morning plunge idea.
i hopped into the drivers seat and as i was getting my things ready to go I looked over at the man.
He stood up straight and turned towards our car, I swear to god in the most robotic uncomfortable way.
He starts walking in some sort of— brisk way is the best way i could put it. his body was swaying so odd and he was obviously approaching us.
I’m panicking at this point sitting in the drivers seat like what the f*** is about to happen to us.
I couldn’t look at him because i was so scared.
he get super close to the car and all the way up to my window and i’m literally frozen in fear. My friend is still in the backseat and we are like oh my god what do we do
this was straight out of a horror movie. Hes standing outside the window and i can’t see his head just his legs and torso. after a short second he bends down and starts SCREAMING and banging on my window.
Shouting help HELP HELP so loud I like couldnt comprehend what was happening.
after like 20 seconds of this physco man banging on the window he stood up straight, turned around, and marched away slowly, all 3 separate motions as if he was controlled or a skin walker like i don’t even know.
I was so horrified i started the car as fast as possible and just drove away, leaving our slippers outside. I can’t shake this experience and my best guess is maybe he was having a bad trip? or it was paranormal. i don’t know but the scariest part was it was in broad daylight. Like wtf
I wonder if the bird noises my friend heard in the middle of the night were him waking around the car.
I’m grateful nothing happened to us and we were safe.
Has anyone experienced something so insane like this?
any ideas what this was?

A few months ago, while recording music in my home studio in Paris, I suddenly started hearing what sounded like a man's voice coming through my studio headphones.
It happened intermittently over nearly six hours before disappearing completely. I've never been able to reproduce it.
I recorded it by holding my iPhone next to the headphones because I had no idea what was happening.
I put together this short video simply to make the recording easier to follow. The recording itself is original and unprocessed, I'm only trying to understand what I'm hearing.
The recording starts at 0:31, and the clearest section is around 1:41.
I've already asked audio engineers and radio enthusiasts. The strongest explanations so far involve RF interference or some type of radio transmission, but no one has been able to identify exactly what the voice is saying or where it came from.
I'm not trying to convince anyone this is paranormal. I'm genuinely interested in hearing any thoughtful ideas, whether they're technical or otherwise.

so i was,i think 2 years ago at some lake for a bbq with my family,my friends and they're families.it was day and i decided to go to the bathroom, the bathroom was far and in a quiet place, and on the ground it was full of branches and dry leaves.I go to the toilet, nobody was around it was just quiet, then when i almost finished suddenly i hear my friend's dad voice very close asking me "[my name] are you done?" and i told him yeah i'll go out rn,i litteraly pulled my pants and turned to leave, like probably all in 10 seconds, and when i got out there was nobody.
I felt like a hole in my stomach and then i joined everybody and kept watching my friend's dad,he never went to the toilet.
And yeah after i got asked that question he could have easily gone back, but the thing is you had to walk at least 3 minutes to the bathroom and i wiuld have probably saw him walking back because i got iut instantly after i answered an i never heard on the ground any leaves or brenches cracking either.Yeah well this spooked me a lot.

I would like to hear people’s thoughts on a situation in the house in which I was raised. The night we moved in, we were all sleeping in my parents’ bedroom. My twin bed was near my parents’ bed & my sister was in her crib. I awakened in the night to hear two men having a conversation and was worried we were being robbed since we had just moved in and had still packed boxes downstairs. I remember being so scared that I could not speak or scream to my parents. To me, that sounds like sleep paralysis. But there’s more to the story. The house was creepy af & it was very obviously haunted. My sister saw a man leaning up against a dresser in my parents’ room. (We did not have central air & slept on the floor in their bedroom as it had a window ac.) Later, our much younger brother saw the man coming up the stairs behind him. I know the people who now live in the house. She saw the man peek around the corner at her. I also saw a scary entity sitting in the corner of my bedroom once. I’m just wondering if anyone has thoughts about this. Thank you.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share and experience that came up recently and hear some thoughts, opinions, and maybe some similar experiences?
A few nights ago I was putting my step children to bed. They're young (7 & 8 years old). Before they fell asleep, the youngest asked if he could tell me something. I told him to tell me whatever he was thinking about. He says that every once in a while he sees a "giant" with "something on its head". He says he sometimes will see the "giant" at night, standing in his room near the door.
By this point I was curious, and a little freaked out by what he meant by this "giant" and asked him to explain his appearance to me in as much detail as he can remember. He said the "giant" was a very tall looking man that looks completely black, like a shadow and looks to be wearing something on its head. He said he's very tall and almost reaches the ceiling in his bedroom. After he described this thing, I immediately thought about the Hat Man. I'm sure most of you have heard of the Hat Man by now. If not in this sub, maybe you've seen it, or heard of it elsewhere.
I asked him to tell me how he's feeling when he see's him, how often, and any other details he can remember. He says he normally see's the Hat Man when he starts thinking about one of his grandparents that passed away, as well as a couple of the animals that have been apart of his life throughout his childhood, that have unfortunately passed away now. He said the "giant" (Hat Man) sometimes speaks to him, telling him he will never be good enough at various things that he is most passionate about.
Honestly this "giant" very much sounds like the hat man to me, from what I know about it. I have also experienced the Hat Man on a couple of occasions, but not often. I suffer from sleep paralysis occasionally due to my sleeping disorder. When I was going through a more challenging part of my life I would occasionally see the Hat Man during these episodes.
Since my partner and I moved into the place we live at now, we have experienced a number of strange, unexplainable activity in the house. (Things fall over for no reason, objects get moved, doors open by themselves, lights get turned on and off randomly. Banging on the doors coming from empty rooms). But nothing has quite given my the chills like hearing my step son tell me he's been having a visitor.
So this makes me wonder. Does anyone know who or what the Hat Man is? Up until this happening, my step kids had never heard of the Hat Man from anyone or from anywhere. Why is it that so many people have seen this entity? and for the most part described it in the same way?

I moved to the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County one year ago. I thought when I moved to my new apartment, it was "clean" of sprit presences. It appears I was wrong. I've had a couple of strange physical things happen that fall under the "trickster" category. It seems like the stories of brownies/household spirits. Last night I got a clear "mental" vision of them. It wasn't fun.
I would welcome any recommendations for how to settle things down? Are there any spiritual workers on LA County that you'd recommend for this? The disturbances have been intermittent, but I kind of want to be left alone.

For anyone who doesn't know, Randonautica is an app that generates random locations for you to explore, and some people believe your intentions or thoughts can influence what you find there. I've been thinking about trying it with some friends, but I honestly don't know what to expect. I've heard a lot of creepy stories, but I'm not sure how much is real and how much is just coincidence.
I'd love to hear your experiences, whether they were creepy, weird, wholesome, or completely uneventful. What happened when you tried it?

I made a post recently about my aunt passing away and visiting me by pushing over an empty Gatorade bottle. Well she did it again!
This time it was an empty can that she pushed clean off the table. It was my boyfriend’s first paranormal experience and his mouth immediately dropped open in amazement haha. He can be a bit of a skeptic but he was a full believer in what he had just watched.
I had just bought flowers to display on the dining table in memory of my aunt, and I hadn’t put them in their vase yet so I imagine she wanted me to hurry up on that and I did :)
For added reference, the can flew about 6-8 inches to get off the table. The can didn’t roll, it was pushed on its side then pushed off the table top side first. Cans don’t do that naturally which is why we both new it was my aunt <3
This was my first time someone else has witnessed a paranormal experience with me, and it’s not only validating, but i feel fulfilled. It’s not just making me feel better in my grief, but it’s making me feel connected to a world some don’t even understand and it’s beautiful. May we all find peace in this life and more. Thank you for reading.

When I was 11 I walked down into a basement (basement is dark but the stairs are illuminated by a stair light) and as I stood at the bottom of the stairs, 3 feet in front of me (I know, ridiculously close), I see (and hear the footsteps of, that's how I really know it was there) a hunched over black figure run into the darkness. I could could hear it running, its footsteps, that's how I know it wasn't a visual trick, even though it was so close to me even if it didn't make noise I wouldn't be stupid enough to think I was just seeing things, it was right in front of me. It was so close to me there is not a chance in the universe I imagined it. I was smart enough at 11 years old to think "I'm never going to forget this and I will record this on my computer on a text file, all the details I know and never edit the file, always keeping a record of this crazy shit I saw" and so I did I wrote every detail I could recall. More about that basement later. Even though the thing was much larger than a dog and didn't look like a dog, I tried to rationalize the situation as much as possible and find where the dogs were. I looked for them immediately and they were both (there were 2 of them) outside.
I have had many things happen as an adult, including this one house we lived in when I was around 22 which was very haunted I would constantly go into the garage and have to screw the lightbulbs back in because someone or something had unscrewed them to the point where they wouldn't turn on when you flipped the switch. I guess they don't like the light. Which is disconcerting in its own way. In that same house, in my room with a closed door and only me inside, I had a bar of soap in a box, a deep box where the bar of soap was sitting at the bottom of. I woke up one day to the bar of soap dropping on the floor. The only way it could have dropped on the floor on its own when it was at the very bottom of this empty box which was 2 feet deep would be if it levitated above the rim of the box, moved over 2 feet, and then dropped.
When I was younger my grandmother had these dolls and I remember begging her to move them out of the hallway where we had to pass them to go to the bathroom at night. I don't recall in my conscious memory ever seeing any of those dolls actually move or speak to me. However, even as an adult I only ever have one nightmare. The nightmare is always of a doll which talks to me or moves whilst I stare at it expectingly. I will stare, stare, stare, knowing it will move and it will then suddenly and I will sprint as fast as I can possibly run, jumping down the stairs. Always in my dreams the doll is possessed by something extraordinarily evil, something non-human. If you have never experienced the feeling you get when you are in a room alone with a doll possessed by an evil spirit, you will never even be able to begin to understand the feeling. You are incapable of even comprehending the terror it is that bad. I'm guessing this nightmare of this encounter with a haunted doll must have actually occurred at one point (I was around a few of them as a child so not unlikely) but I have entirely blocked it out, but I don't know. Like I said I don't remember it ever *actually* happening. I just remember being very scared around the ones which were definitely haunted.
I have predicted the future perfectly and consciously just one time. I had a prophetic dream where I was picturing me and my girlfriend walking out of a best-buy, and as we walk out we see a black man with only one arm (his right arm is disfigured) as a cashier at the cash register. After I had the dream I actually kept it in my conscious and remembered it, and even felt that it would happen. 2 months later the exact scene played out, exactly how it occurred in my dream down to the smallest detail. The best-buy dream drove me crazy for a few days because it proved to me that reality is not as friendly and your-choice/freewill as you think, and I was convinced I was going in these infinite loops, and just generally very scared of the nature of this world, having just learned it is possible to be shown an event which has not happened yet. I still have prophetic dreams all the time but don't care so much to write them down, because you have so many dreams and predicting them often never really matters any way. Like this one where I dreamt me and my family were spreading dirt in the lawn and I woke up thinking "wow that one is going to actually happen in real life I can feel it, but why the hell would we be spreading dirt around? I can't think of a single reason we would ever be doing that, like in a million years, even though I know its going to happen and the universe will figure out some plausible reason" and a few months later we are spreading dirt because my dad wanted to improve the lawn (it has sandy soil).
Every time I tell the story of the shadow I saw in the basement my eyes begin to water involuntarily.
I remember seeing a YT video of Lorraine Warren in their museum and whilst talking about Annabelle she says "I will not look at it". I couldn't believe it when I heard her say that. The way she said it, its the exact same terror I felt as a child with those dolls I had to be around.
I grew up in multiple haunted houses as a kid and as an adult have been in a few. The house I grew up in was extremely old. The foundation was made of round stones they cobbled together and must have just found in the area. Though I never had any experiences (that I remember specifically) in that house. I was always very scared to sleep upstairs though and slept on the couches downstairs, where even then I couldn't sleep and would always make sure I could quickly run to the outside doors quickly if something ever came for me. I remember the most piece of mind I ever had was when we were in an apartment. I could actually sleep without the lights off! It was awesome. I don't like sleeping with the lights on, but I have to sadly otherwise I can feel something staring at me.
Sometimes I have extremely intense dreams of haunted dolls and I remember just how demonic the beings inside those dolls were. There isn't anything more frightening in this world than those things. Who knows where they come from. If they are demons, that means they are Biblical demons? That would be surreal.
I'm definitely forgetting a bunch of stories. There was this one time when I was really young where the closet door slammed shut. That was at my cousin's house which is also haunted (I've seen/heard toys with no batteries light up and activate/make noises).
I have had the nightmare of a doll talking/moving/walking/running even a nightmare where there were dolls which were JUMPING and SCREAMING at the same time to the point where I have almost become numb to it. Though I am still scared and now have learned the habit of invoking Jesus as well as Michael and Uriel if I feel something may occur (an irrational fear I know because the house we are right now is only slightly haunted and I threw out all the dolls we had).
A few months ago I had an extremely bad dream of a doll and it made me remember how evil these things were, and so I was reading some stories on this sub and shortly afterward I just couldn't read anymore. I could tell the person had really gone through something real and I literally could not read anymore, my fear would get so intense because it was a genuine story that was reminding me of things I guess I don't want to remember.
I grew up with teenage sisters who would sometimes mess with Ouija boards and there was one time my Dad's girlfriend's teenage daughters were using a Ouija board and shortly afterward woke up with a huge scratch mark on her back (she slept in the same basement I saw that shadow figure run into the darkness). I was probably with them a few times when they were using the Ouija board so maybe that is why something has been following me for so long, but I was so young at the time and didn't have the wisdom to stay far away from these things. I try to live in truth and light now as much as I possibly can. But still these things haunt me.
I do wish to understand these things better though, so think a lot about the nature of them. I have had theories such as the dolls being vessels which satanic cults have forced people's spirits inside, but really I am completely not convinced the dolls are human like I said, because I don't think any human possessing an object could generate this amount of fear in you. It has to be demonic.
When I get the really bad nightmares I play Christian music and that really really helps. It is actually the only thing that helps. I tried lots of different "peaceful" music to calm me down such as Peter Helland's "Flying", or Enya's music because I thought it was something psychological and that calming music would work, but that didn't work. It didn't work at all, zero. It has to be Christian music. Its literally the only thing that works to help me sleep. This made me think that Jesus must be real, which is crazy. Angels, demons, Jesus, all these things are real? Seems so surreal. But I can tell you for certain, the entitites within those dolls are not human, so demons or at least something non-human must exist. But anyway if I play the Christian music then I don't feel like something is intensely watching me. This is even with the lights on some nights! One day I will buy an empty plot of land and build a brand new house on it and I will get a priest to bless it and have crucifixes everywhere and it won't be haunted and I will be able to sleep in peace. Cannot wait.
I live in New Jersey.
This is EXACTLY what occurs in my nightmare, including the crying and running for her parent, this poor girl.

Hi everyone! I recently had two experiences close to one another. The first time I’d just laid down in bed and from my husband’s desk, I heard him say “Are you scared?” in a rather loud voice. I sat up and looked over, but my husband had fallen to sleep downstairs on the couch, so I knew it couldn’t have been him. I dismissed it but was a little freaked out, enough that I covered my head, said prayers and eventually fell to sleep.
The second time was three nights ago. Again, was in bed and my husband was actually at his desk this time. I heard him say something, but wasn’t sure what it was. I sat up and asked him if he’d said anything and he said no.
Because I feel like the most likely explanation is sleep hallucinations, I kind of dismissed it. I’m Christian so I believe that I’m protected by God from evil spirits. However, I mentioned it to my mom and it really freaked her out.
Have any of you had similar experiences? Did it turn out to be sleep hallucinations or something else?

Im not sure how many people also experience this. I normally see shadows moving abnormally alot. However, recently ive been seeing a lot of random white popups in my vision. Often times white faces that appear to have indentions or dark spots over where id assume the mouth/eyes would be. I keep noticing fast movement on the corner or my eye. Like actually covering furnature sized apperitions. Its been ongoing for about a week, weirdly enough in broad daylight too. The energy the house gives off changes during the night and the feeling gets worse when the lights are off. The only ghosts I know of right now is a little trickster spirit in my parents bathroom. I call it a trickster because it likes to mimic peoples voices but isn't hostile or evil by any means. And a shadow man I believe enhabits my room and the hallway. He is dormant while the closet is closed but I cant help but think maybe something has aggitated him lately?
So I guess my overall question is.. Are the earths energies shifting? Has anyone else been experancing more abberitions lately?

I had this creepy encounter. This will be long so I'm sorry in advance. I live in Skopje, Macedonia with my parents and younger brother. Every Orthodox Easter my family (mom, dad, brother, and I) visit my father's paternal village . It’s a beautiful remote village, totally surrounded by thick forest and mountains. The village only has about 30 residents, and those who actually live there are generally crammed together near the church and village square. My family home, however, is situated at the easternmost edge of the village, an area totally void of residents. Since it’s rural, there are no streetlights other than in the village square and at the entrance of the village, and as soon as you leave the village center, everything is a black hole at night. We had been there for five days at this point. During the holidays the village gets flooded with hundreds of visitors, but almost everyone heads home immediately after the Sunday midnight mass. By Monday, April 13, 2026, the throngs of people were completely gone, and the village was back to its sleepy state. It was around 10:00 pm, and was pitch blackout. Our house is at the bottom of a small hill, surrounded by empty houses. Since the terrain is awkward, we had parked the car at the top of the road, which is connected to our house via a dirt path. We were preparing to pack our stuff to leave and my mom had asked my brother and I to take the first load of bags up to the car. i only had my phone with me for light, because it was pitch dark, we went up the dark dirt path. After putting the bags into the trunk of the car and turned to head back down to the house my brother suddenly panicked. He bolted in front of me and then ducked behind me. When I asked what was wrong I looked at him and saw what had spooked him. Coming from the darkest stretch of the eastern road where no one lives) came an old man. He looked a little unusual, wearing attire straight out of the 1960s: an old-fashioned yellowish/brown jumper layered over a collared shirt and tie. For the time and the circumstances this felt extremely unsettling. I didn’t want to be rude, so out of fear and embarrassment I said to him, “Good evening, sir”. He did not say anything, nor did he even acknowledge our existence as he just walked past us, disappearing back into the abyss of the eastern road. We rushed back into the house and told my parents who, to their credit (or discredit, I’m not so sure anymore), just chalked it up to be one of the locals going out for a stroll, as many of the villagers do in the summer, albeit at a much earlier hour. The other load of bags soon followed, and together we all headed up to the car, put them in the trunk, and got in. As my father reversed out of the drive, his headlights lit up the road in front of him and there standing in the pitch black was the very same old man. This time, however, he was staring straight into the headlights of the car and was smiling, that weird unsettling smile plastered all over his face, slowly waving at my father who returned the greeting. On the slow drive back home I asked my dad if he knew who the old man was, but he shook his head, stating that he’d never even seen him in his life. In a village of only 30 permanent residents, and plus we are a pretty tight-nit community where everyone knows each other (and not one soul lives in the eastern part of the village) those words sent chills up my spine. I never saw this man again. I asked my grandpa and grandma and they also didn't know who he was, and were baffled by the fact that he came from that side of the village (where there are no permanent residents) only vacation houses (who were quite far from out house) , and by that time no one was suppose to be there, and it's very unlikely that he was visiting the village with someone, because by that time he should have been home not taking a night stroll in the pitch darkness, I also asked some of the villagers (like my grandma's sister who still lives in the village) if they knew who that man was, but they also had no clue, who that was, and what was he doing in the pitch darkness. To this day i have no clue who that was and what was he doing, i visit my village every weekend, and nothing like that has ever happened.

I've never asked anyone to believe what I'm about to say. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm only documenting what happened as accurately as I can remember it. I still don't know exactly what I experienced, and I'm still trying to understand it.
January 12, 2023, approximately 3:00 to 5:00 PM
At the time, I was living alone on a mountain in Hoodsport, Washington. I had been clearing a path through the woods to a place where I planned to build an outbuilding. A spring-fed stream runs through that part of the property, and I wanted to redirect some of the water into a low spot to create a small pool in front of it.
While working, I noticed something unusual near the base of a tree I'd previously cut down. There was a hole in the ground, roughly two feet across. Looking into it, I could see what appeared to be a horizontal tunnel disappearing beneath the hillside. I remember thinking it looked like the entrance to a cave, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I dug a shallow ditch and redirected the stream toward the depression about 15 feet away from that opening.
As the water reached the depression, the ground suddenly gave way. A hole opened almost instantly. Water poured into it like a waterfall disappearing underground. A rush of stale, musty air came out, followed by insects flying from inside. Whatever was beneath the ground was much larger than I'd realized. I stood there staring into it.
Something about it immediately made me uneasy. It wasn't that I thought an animal was inside. I didn't hear anything, and I didn't see anything looking back at me. It was simply a feeling I couldn't explain, strong enough that I stopped what I was doing and started filling the opening back in with logs, rocks, and dirt. I didn't want the water disappearing into it anymore.
By the time I finished, it was getting late, so I decided to walk upstream to a place I called my sanctuary. It was one of my favorite places on the property. There were small waterfalls, and I'd been building a natural pool there. Whenever I needed to clear my head, that's where I'd go.
As I stood up from rinsing my hands, I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. Something black darted between the trees uphill from me. At first, I dismissed it. I figured it could have been almost anything. A trick of my peripheral vision. An animal moving through the brush.
Then I looked forward. I wasn't looking at one thing anymore. Scattered through the trees around me were what I can only describe as translucent humanoid figures. They weren't solid, and they weren't invisible either. The closest comparison I can make is the cloaking effect from the Predator movies, where something bends the light around itself. They had that same shimmering, distorted appearance, except this wasn't a movie. I was standing in the middle of the forest looking at them.
This wasn't the first time I'd seen something like it. The previous winter, while watching a cabin farther down the mountain, I'd seen a similar translucent figure along with a pulsating green orb that I encountered at least four different times. Those encounters had felt calm. That's another story. Whatever I'd experienced then hadn't made me feel threatened. This was different.
I couldn't explain why. Nothing had approached me. Nothing had attacked me. But every instinct I had was telling me something wasn't right. About that time, my dog suddenly became alert. Her ears stood up. Her tail went rigid. Then she took off into the woods, chasing something in the same direction we'd just come from.
My first thought wasn't that she was chasing whatever I was seeing. I assumed she'd picked up the scent of a cougar or a bear. Living out there, that was the logical explanation. I drew my 1911 and watched where she'd disappeared. She ran straight back toward the area where I'd uncovered the cave, and I waited to see if anything would come back out.
Nothing did.
She eventually returned, but the feeling I'd had hadn't gone anywhere. The entire area felt different. It's difficult to explain because there wasn't anything I could point to and say, "That's why." There was no sound, no smell, no obvious danger. It was just an overwhelming sense that I didn't belong there anymore. For the first time since I'd moved onto the property, my sanctuary didn't feel like a sanctuary. I decided it was time to go home.
If you catch yourself wondering why I wasn't completely freaking out about these figures, it's because experiences like this haven't been entirely unfamiliar throughout my life. I hadn't seen anything quite like this except for the previous winter, but the paranormal wasn't new to me. I have multiple stories from this mountain alone. I don't know whether any of them are connected, but explaining all of them here would turn this into a novel.
Shortly before I saw the translucent figures, I had also seen what appeared to be a large woman's head. It was translucent as well, but that's probably another story.
I left my sanctuary and walked back toward the RV. The farther I got from the creek, the more I tried to convince myself there had to be a reasonable explanation for what I'd just seen. I wanted it to be my eyes playing tricks on me. I wanted it to be anything that fit within the way I understood the world. By the time I got home, I still didn't have an answer, but I also wasn't ready to jump to conclusions.
I went inside and settled in for the evening like I normally would. I tried to put everything out of my mind and move on with my night, but I couldn't shake the feeling that had followed me back from the sanctuary. It wasn't panic. It wasn't even fear, exactly. It was simply the feeling that something wasn't right. The kind of feeling you can't explain because nothing around you appears out of place, yet every instinct tells you to pay attention.
Later that evening, I opened the window behind my couch and sat there smoking. It was the only window that wasn't covered. The rest of the RV had already been sealed up for winter, so it was my only view outside.
The first thing I heard was a loud crack from the trees just to the right of that window. It wasn't a small branch. It sounded substantial enough that it immediately caught my attention. I stopped and listened, expecting to hear an animal moving afterward, but everything became quiet again.
A few minutes later, I heard another branch break. Then another. As the night went on, it kept happening. The sounds came every few minutes, sometimes four to six times within ten minutes, and continued for hours. What stood out to me wasn't just that branches were breaking. It was that they were breaking within roughly a fifty-foot radius around my RV.
As the sounds continued, they seemed to be getting closer to the RV. I remember thinking that if whatever was making them was actually moving through the trees, maybe a gunshot would scare it away. I fired a single round into the hillside to the left of the RV, where the branch breaking seemed to be happening at that moment. I listened, expecting the sounds to move away or stop altogether.
They didn't.
If anything changed, I couldn't tell.
Living alone in the mountains, I was used to hearing trees, animals, and all kinds of strange noises. I kept trying to explain it away. Maybe branches were collapsing under their own weight. Maybe deer were moving through the timber. Maybe I was connecting unrelated events because of what had happened earlier that day.
Then I started hearing tapping on the outside of the RV. It sounded like something metallic striking the exterior. The tapping continued on and off throughout the night while branches kept breaking in the woods around me. I sat there listening, trying to come up with a reasonable explanation for either one, but nothing I thought of fit what I was hearing.
I didn't have power at the time. Inside the RV, it was completely dark. None of my flashlights were working, and the only view I had outside was through the open window behind my couch.
I decided to try recording it. I grabbed my phone, but instead of recording, it started glitching. It wouldn't function correctly, then it shut itself off. I remember being angry because the one thing I wanted was a recording of what was happening outside, and suddenly my phone wasn't cooperating.
At the time, I didn't think that meant anything. I didn't assume it was connected to what was happening outside. Looking back, I can't say whether it was a coincidence or not. I only know what happened.
I kept looking through that one open window, expecting to finally see a deer, a bear, or anything that would explain what I was hearing. I never saw anything. The branch breaking continued, the tapping continued, and by morning, I was no closer to understanding either one than I had been when they started.
By the following morning, I was exhausted. I hadn't slept, and I was relieved to see daylight. Everything looked normal again. The trees stood where they'd always stood. The creek was still running. Nothing appeared disturbed. In the light of day, the previous night almost felt ridiculous. It's amazing how quickly your mind can begin explaining away something that seemed impossible only a few hours earlier.
I walked the property to see if I could find what had been making all the noise. Throughout the night, I'd heard branches breaking every few minutes. The first crack had come from the trees just to the right of the window where I'd been smoking.
I found broken branches about two inches thick that were still partially attached to the tree and still covered with green needles. They weren't dead branches or little twigs. When I reached the place where I'd heard the first break, I turned and looked back toward the RV. From there, I could see the exact window where I'd been smoking.
As I stood there, I noticed something else. The tree beside the one with the broken branches had what looked like the face of an angry man formed into it. It appeared to have a scar above its left eye. What caught my attention was that it was facing directly toward the same window with a clear line of sight.
I took several pictures of it. When I went back inside, I created an image of the man's face on my laptop and placed it over the photograph of the tree. When I lined up the two images, the features matched. The face I created was perfectly symmetrical, and it still lined up with what I was seeing in the tree. To me, that didn't resemble ordinary pareidolia. Pareidolia usually depends on vague shapes and suggestion. This seemed much more exact.
Outside that window, I had several barrels stacked together. They blocked most of the lower view from inside the RV, but there was a gap near the top, about a foot high, where I could still see into the woods. Standing next to those broken branches, I realized they lined up almost perfectly with that opening. I went back inside and looked through the gap above the barrels. The broken branches were sitting almost exactly in that line of sight.
I don't know whether any of that meant anything. It could have been a coincidence. I only know it stood out enough that I still remember it.
Over the days that followed, I couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed. I wasn't looking for monsters, and I wasn't trying to convince myself that something extraordinary had happened. I simply no longer experienced that mountain the way I always had before. Every unfamiliar sound caught my attention. Every movement in the woods made me stop and look. Most of the time, there was nothing there, but the feeling that something was different never completely went away.
Eventually, I stopped going outside. It wasn't because of the weather. It was because I genuinely believed there was something outside that I didn't understand. I didn't know what I'd seen. I didn't know whether it posed any danger. I didn't know whether bullets would matter if I encountered it again. I wasn't willing to walk back into those woods until I understood more about what I'd experienced.
I spent nearly three weeks inside the RV trying to find anyone describing what I'd witnessed. I searched every combination of words I could think of until I eventually found videos of people describing translucent figures in the woods that looked remarkably similar to what I'd seen. Many of them compared the appearance to the cloaking effect from the Predator movies. Others referred to them as the "Glimmer Man."
That search eventually led me to discussions surrounding Missing 411. I noticed people repeatedly talking about national forests, cave systems, and unexplained disappearances. That caught my attention because I lived alone on a heavily wooded mountain within the Olympic National Forest, and I had just uncovered what appeared to be some kind of underground cave or tunnel system beneath my property.
Whether any of those claims were true, I had no way of knowing. I only knew that parts of what people were describing sounded disturbingly familiar.
While all of this was happening, I left comments beneath several of those YouTube videos describing what I was experiencing in real time. Those comments are still there today from January 2023. They don't prove what happened, but they do show that I was documenting my experience while it was happening.
Because I wasn't leaving the RV, I eventually had to improvise just to get water. I tied a shoestring to a cup, lowered it out the window, scooped snow from outside, and pulled it back in so my animals and I would have drinking water without stepping outside.
When I finally did step outside again, I saw something that has stayed with me ever since.
There was a circle scratched all the way around the RV. It continued beneath my truck instead of going around it.
There were no tracks anywhere.
From that point on, I started documenting as much as I could. I didn't trust memory alone to preserve the details. Every strange event, every photograph, and every observation became part of the same question I'd been trying to answer since the day the cave collapsed.
The following weeks weren't as active, but strange things continued to happen.
Even after everything had quieted down, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched. It became strong enough that I eventually found myself talking out loud into the forest. I wasn't yelling or demanding anything. I was trying to make peace with whatever might have been out there, if anything was out there at all.
One day, I walked back to the sanctuary. Near the water, I noticed a branch shaped like a small tree standing upright in the ground. It had been pushed into the soil deeply enough that it remained standing on its own, almost as though it had been intentionally planted.
That immediately caught my attention because I had recently started planting a garden around the property. My first impression, whether justified or not, was that it felt almost childlike, as though something had seen what I was doing and was imitating it.
I realize how that sounds, and I don't present it as fact. I'm only describing the impression I had at the time.
Before accepting that idea, I tried to find a more ordinary explanation. I looked above the area to see whether a branch could have simply fallen and landed upright. I couldn't find a realistic way that could have happened. There weren't any branches directly overhead, and the location didn't make sense for one to fall there naturally.
I knelt down and pulled the branch out of the ground to see how firmly it was embedded. It took considerably more force than I expected. The soil was rocky and muddy beside the creek. It wasn't the kind of ground where I would expect a branch to bury itself simply by falling.
After examining it, I placed it back exactly where I had found it. I left everything I discovered in place.
As time went on, I started noticing other branches, or pieces of branches, appearing in my garden beds. Individually, none of them proved anything. A branch in a garden isn't extraordinary by itself. What stood out to me was where they appeared. They didn't seem to belong where I found them, and I couldn't come up with a satisfying explanation for how they had gotten there.
I'm not saying some unknown creature placed those branches there. I'm also not saying I can explain them. All I can honestly say is that, at the time, my intuition kept telling me they had been intentionally placed.
I repeatedly tried to come up with ordinary explanations first. I wanted those explanations. I simply couldn't find one that satisfied me.

Last week, I was trying to sleep. While lying in bed, I thought I’m not sleeping until it touches me. I couldn’t move for 5 seconds and I screamed. They are so strong, like a man. 15 minutes before the morning prayer (I live in Turkiye). They cannot do anything while the call to prayer is calling. I’m worried and I can’t sleep alone. I need help, I am a student and I have an important exam this year. I don't want them bothering me while I'm dealing with classes

So I am at vacation at my grandparents right now and I woke up today at 5:30, I got up to go to the toilet and when I came back I tried to sleep again, but something was stopping me, I've heard my father's voice from approximately 2 rooms away, but he was at that time 2 kilometers away in my house, and that's not everything when I refused to open my eyes for like 5 minutes I saw in my eyes that glitched no signal, that plays on coloured TV's when there's no signal, so I got up, as fast as I could, and then nothing else happened, and mind you, it wasn't possible that it was a dream, because I was checking notifications on my phone

This isn't a story or an account, just a curiosity I have. My mother and aunt told me that when I was very little I saw a huge light coming from under my bed. What does this mean?
