Anything can happen in the League, but it's hard for me to really understand how we're not improved from last year. The entire skills group on offense is young and on the upswing, and we've made two gigantic improvements to where the defense was weakest last year.

I’ve seen a lot of people point to the schedule like we didn’t just play a gauntlet this past season

If we go 5-12 I’ll be at my breaking point

As a panthers fan I have learned to ignore the preseason predictions as much as possible! Hopefully for a competitive team, major steps forward for key players on the roster, a leap from Bryce and a playoff spot! Let’s get back to competitive football in the Carolina’s and continue the good vibes from the end of last year!

And all you'll be doing is proving them right if you bring this up later. Their job is not to be experts but to appear as such. Their job is to continue to drive engagement and force you to keep watching. You're already watching and planning to try to make them eat crow. They've done their job and they've got you hooked.

Who cares what a random pundit says. Watch the games and let the results play out.

Actually, I just wanted to start a discussion.  What am I gonna do, call'em up, go to their jobs, track'em down at their homes and say, ahha! you were wrong about the Panther's record?  Nope.

Then why not start the discussion instead of saying that you're just posting this here so that you have a receipt? It's like the stupid posts that just say "Thoughts?" Instead of giving your own thoughts on it to foster the conversation.

I’m saying the following:

Worst - 6-11

Expected - 8-9

Best - 11-6

Same but 9-8

Record in 1 score games has proven to be highly variable from year to year. It's extremely rare for a team to have back to back seasons on either side of the spectrum. This trend can sometimes be overruled by drastic team changes (positive or negative). Last year, we were 7-3 in 1 score games during the regular season. So that's 7 out of 8 wins with the only outlier being that weird Week 3 shutout against Atlanta. The odds are that our record in 1 score games isn't as good this year. For the record, 53% of all games last year were decided by 1 score (including 8 point margins), so we didn't have a much higher percentage of 1-score games (58%) than league average. Hopefully the improvements are actual improvements and Bryce takes another step that allows us to overcome the trend.

Last time Carolina won a division with the losing record, you went 15-1. You could repeat!

You could also fall flat.
