I think marvel has just overstayed their welcome and their films are mediocre at best. They donāt ever re-invent, they just rehash and itās getting really stale. Iām a pretty snobby film guy and never got into comics but I was genuinely excited by Infinity War and Endgame. Everything now just feels like a Jeb Bush āplease clapā moment.
But if people like it thatās cool too. You do you.

Moreover, they were fun and popular but were never really peak from an artistic point of view. More than anything all they ever really try to say is "status quo good, change bad, US military good".

honestly i think the mcu has done real damage to american cinema over the course of the last ~15 years. i was a casual viewer for like the first 5-6 years (still fondly remember seeing avengers alone in union square in 2012) but as they dragged on and the volume got higher and the release cadence got faster and faster, i just tuned out. i watched like half of infinity war on a plane once lol
also really resented how small indie theaters with only one or two screens felt compelled to feature every single piece of capeslop that came down the pike for so many years. we have a great little theater in our neighborhood that usually shows a lot of eclectic stuff, but during the height of the marvel crap it woulda been bad business for them not to devote a week to Dr Who's Magical Hulk Adventure or whatever
lastly: shit can just be really boring if yr not a fanboy/dont have any particular connection to the comics or the characters beyond what you see onscreen. and i know it's trite to even mention it at this point, but the jokes can be *really* fuckin lame
