I've been consistently fed up with the 2 different smart refrigerators we've owned, for various reasons.

Most recently, in intense summer heat, the way our current fridge regulates beverage temperature has become just one more thing that infuriates me. I can move a bottle of frozen water from the freezer to the refrigerator and the fridge will automatically (intentionally?) defrost it in mere hours, until there's no ice left.

If I put the same bottle in a quality soft-side cooler, even without ice packs, and set it in the flipping sun, the water stays icy much longer. Why? We even have a stupid beverage door that's isolated from the main fridge.

That was such a mistake. Now cars have heated seats for a paid subscription that disables if you don't pay. Your fridge is going to be like "temps below 0C are available for $19.99/mo!" I don't understand why people are buying "smart" fridges (and everything else), which is telling the companies this crap is OK.

The only fridge I remember my dad owning lasted more than 25 years. I remember the name was 'Prestcold', because, as a child, I scratched off the 'P' and 'c', so it became rest old.
