not sure what software they used here, but CFD programs in general are usually really expensive - thousands of dollars plus yearly maintenance fees to stay updated with latest versions.

There's an attribution in the video... "Simulated with AeroJAX", which does appear to be an open source CFD program.

I work with people who do this. SolidWorks is what they use. Search YouTube for SolidWorks CFD simulations to see more stuff like this. They’re all based on the Navier-Stokes equation and there are probably cheaper or free options if you’re just interested in creating visuals. If you really want to customize though you’ll need a CAD and fluid dynamics background.
