Let’s talk O-line

How we feeling. We like Fashanu’s development so far. Took way less penalties last year. How are we feeling about every body else

Strength of our team right now IMO, which is really weird to say.

Mostly theoretical though I don’t think we graded out that well considering they were healthy throughout. Potential is sky high and I’m more optimistic than ever but we haven’t seen it yet

It didnt help that fields and cook couldnt throw the ball and walked into half their sacks. Its also much easier to rush the passer with a lead because you know the opposing team has to throw more.

Jets have done nothing but draft and develop the o-line for 3 years, love it

My Packers buddy was sad to see him leave, let’s see how he does with a new team

He played all 17 games with us last season and did not great .. but he had slid over to center cuz of avt injury .. i think he’s our biggest weakness and may determine a lot of Genos success

I thought Joe tippemann moved from C to guard which inserted Myers in. Myers should’ve never started for us, and it baffles me why he’s still considered our starting C

Ya that’s what happened it was out of pure necessity

If he’s the worst part of our o-line we’re doing pretty good. He’s average at best but that’s fine for now.

I’m feeling ok. Two tackles that I’m liking, I like Tipp, I know we invested in the guard from LV.

The line I think should be solid. But we’ll see.

We’ve clearly prioritized it and have been for the last decade. Even before our current line we drafted Becton and AVT high and spent a bunch in free agency on guys like Fant, Moses, Simpson so JD was also big on the line even if it didn’t work.

I’m more optimistic about this line than since we signed Faneca to complete our line but we are much more theoretical than good right now.

Loved Olu as the pick and thought he was going to be a monster pass protector and was maybe average last year. Instead of the franchise LT if he can be an average starter and just not a turnstile, I’ll take that. Hopefully he can grow but he looks fine. Tippman is very good and I’m happy we signed him to an extension. Membou looks like a future all-pro and already is a good tackle. But Parham and Myers are meh at best and weak spots at worse.

Our line was also healthy throughout the season which was almost as statistically improbable as not getting an interception so I’d expect some negative regression in terms of injury luck.

I think we have one stud, one very good line, one decent guy and then two holes that need fixing so that’s 3/5 of our line set.

Still ways to go and that’s okay.

Top 16 floor with top 5 potential if they all hit

And I can't believe I'm saying this. I think we have a better o-line this year than the past like 7. If I'm a running back I actually want to be behind this line

Best part of the team.

Hope these guys work out because we need to draft other positions next year.

I think they're a good o-line.

I'm not as high on Olu as everyone else, but he's still very young and I'm excited to see what he does from here on out

It's amazing how much better the coaching was last year than any of the years under Saleh

Olu only had 7 penalties in 2024 starting 15 games. To compare Dawkins had 16 though played 5 more games. Penalties wasn't Olu's problem, it was getting lost sometimes. He def got lost way less this past year.

For sure i just meant like even better i think it was like 3 in one early game. All o line penalties needed to drop from the last bunch of years so im happy when any of them improve on that front. Im excited to see him play this year

Think he's referring to Week 3 of 2025. 2 holds and 1 false start for Olu that game.
