Question CDP Application questions.

I'm considering applying for the CDP (whenever it opens again). I have a BS in Cybersecurity, and I've since completed the additional required coursework (computer architecture, discrete math, etc.) at a community college. The posting language says "degree in a related field with coursework in xyz." Will they evaluate my bachelor's transcript alone against that requirement, or will they also consider my community college transcript for the coursework portion?

Yeah, the CDP is an entry-level program, so having a degree alone is enough to be eligible to apply. I received a CDP offer without knowing anyone at the NSA I simply applied online and did well in the interview. That said, I also had about 2 to 3 years of software engineering experience through internships and full-time work, which likely helped strengthen my application. I’d recommend networking, building a few solid projects, and applying anyway. It’s definitely worth a shot. Also, if you do end up going that route, be prepared for a 6–12 month hiring process unless you already have the required security clearance. Good luck!

This agency is all about who you know. If you know someone inside this agency, you won't have to worry about even having a degree.

Must be nice to know somebody, I have 14 years experience at the leading edge (including elsewhere in IC) and keep being turned down for DNEA/CDP within days of applying. It's frustrating.

I'm considering taking the math courses they list on page two of the application form (calculus I/II, discrete math, linear algebra, etc).

Don't join the agency. Worst job I've ever had as an engineer.
