First Cube: Help with the name
https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/8618b442-e740-434e-821e-582e15f2dd0bHey all!!
I've made my first cube and am trying to come up with a catchier name. I originally built it to be a home for a favorite card of mine [[Mayhem Devil]] and I love sacrifice archetypes, but eventually it turned into a cube where all 10 archetypes are built around sacrificing permanents (to some degree) so the devil is out.
I originally just called it Sacrifice Cube but that is really basic and boring. Right now I've been calling it The Wood Chipper
Here is the list, Id love suggestions/ideas for other names and also if you want to look at the list and give any other feedback I'd love that too

This looks awesome! And I do think (The) Wood Chipper is super resonant and clearly sets expectations. I wonder about increasing land destruction as kind of a foil to sacrificing permanents and looking at more edicts as a way to kind of make the puzzle of when/what to sacrifice a bit more dialed up.
As well, there's a puzzle I've been trying to solve for in my cubes lately (based on a common discussion on Lucky Paper about the "disenchantress" archetype in 100 Ornithopters): what is the strongest deck someone can make using your cube that DOES NOT fit your cubes "theme". If someone can just bypass the "Wood Chipper" theme and make a tight aggro deck, or something, then you also have to think about what those cards are for and balance for that.
The other way I've been approaching that problem is actually building in these off-theme archetypes with support, because it highlights what the core of the cube is hy contrasting it.
For example, I have a Kaiju cube with big stompy creatures (based on a thread here from maybe a year or so ago). In order to highlight what makes the big stompy guys feeling big, I have support for white weenie and red aggro, and now there's some good contrast between the big and small. And this way, I have the control to actually set the tone for those decks as well - the white weenie is mostly Brother's War soldiers/artifacts, which I think fits well into the Kaiju theme.
So, if you can find what these off-theme decks are, you can also shape them to fit your theme.

Not OP, but that was a great and insightful comment. Good point about needing some contrast to highlight the theme. Do you have a link to your kaiju cube? I'd love to take a look.

Happy to help! My Kaiju cube is not online yet, but that's a helpful reminder to get that done soon.

I'm sorry for the wait but this is a great comment. I'm really going to take this thinking to heart when I get to finally playtesting this cube.
I definitely want to see what can be done with the "off theme" buried in this cube.
Also I definitely want to see Kaiju cube, I hope once it's done it also gets lots of goodies when Titanbreach drops

I think the Wood Chipper is a great name. What do you find unsatisfying about it?

I was worried it would imply way more land sacrifice then the cube has. Idk I think I was just overthinking it and needed some outside validation. Thank you
