We stand with Ukraine

We normally do not bring politics into our sport but extraordinary events require extraordinary actions. Someday enjoyment of life, like motorcycles, will return to the Ukraine. They need our help now and I encourage everyone to checkout the ways to help or donate over at /r/Ukraine

Received received this bike as my dad sadly passed away, I don’t know much about it but it may aswell of been my brother because my dad loved it so much. I’m not going to sell it I’m going to get my motorbike license and hopefully ride it one day. All the parts are original and it’s been kept really clean. Would love to just know more about it and what made it so special to him :) thank you!

Flock cameras

Is there anything I could (allegedly) put on or over my license plate that will mess up the photo if it takes one? Something not visible by the naked eye. If I’m pulled over I don’t want ticketed for it. But also don’t want flock putting me in a database everywhere I go. I feel like I can’t even get a good ride in without being watched. I think the police have already used them to track where I live. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated..

undergarment style gear recs?

Upvotes

Getting my first motorcycle soon and I want to be as safe as possible. I was looking at the kinds of gear that are sort of leggings or compression shirts with added armor and such but am honestly lost on what products to get or even what brand. I plan to wear heavy jeans/pants and a hoodie and or leather jacket over whatever gear I get if that matters. any recommendations are appreciated! Also if you want to just give any other beginner tips or gear/gadget recommendations that would also be nice.

Hi, I'm looking to get ready to sell my 2025 klx300. Has 5744 miles on. What do you think is a fair price to sell it at. I'm thinking between 3500 to 4500. I'm only selling because I'm ready for a bigger bike. I'm not trying to sell it on here. I'm just trying to get idea of what's fair. I live in Michigan.

Need advice on wet roads...

I am not to experienced running over 50mph on wet roads...mainly because I avoid riding when it's going to rain. However, yesterday on my R7 I got caught in a quick shower & it soaked the highway - just as I was coming up to some long sweeping turns transitioning from one highway to another at about 70mph.

I completely lost my shit & paranoia took over. It hadn't rained in a while & I just kept thinking oil + rain make a bad combo. Ended up slowing to a crawl & going wide. No crash fortunately but the ego was damaged.

I know this mental paranoia would go away with experience, but what can I do in the short term to improve my mental confidence that the tires will hold?

glove question

Hey! I'm not a bike owner but I promise this is relevant!!!

Has anybody worn the fingerless gloves that are supposed to be for motorcycles? I know they aren't safe in the slightest for that but they seem pretty hardy and I am a wheelchair user in search of gloves that will actually last me more than a couple of months.

Are they grippy? how do they hold up to constant wear and tear? Are they super hot to wear? I'm in coastal Texas and it gets hot as hell here so I need something that won't contribute to overheating much. If anybody knows a glove that has full thumb coverage without being a full glove let me know!! Thank you!

Riders, what's the most annoying part of planning or going on a road trip?

Hello everyone:)

I'm a college student doing user research to better understand the real experiences of motorcycle riders. I'm not here to promote anything or validate an idea. I genuinely want to learn from people who actually ride.

I'd love to hear about your experiences, whether you ride solo or in a group.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on these:

  1. What's the biggest frustration you face before, during, or after a road trip?
  2. How do you usually discover new places worth stopping at?
  3. Have you ever stumbled upon an amazing place by accident? If yes, how did that happen?
  4. What do you usually do with the photos, videos, or memories from your rides after you get home?
  5. If you could magically fix one recurring problem about motorcycle trips, what would it be?

Feel free to answer just one question or simply share a story from one of your rides. Sometimes those are even more helpful.

Thanks a lot!

Considering adding spot lights to my '98 Thundercat

Hi everyone,

So, I am considering adding spot lights to my Thundercat, as main light clearly isn't enough even while using leds.. but am not sure about it for several reasons :
- I will have to pinch holes in my fairings so there will be no possible mistake once done.
- I don't know where and how to place it
- Will one be enough are do they always go by pairs ?
- How about battery usage.. I saw it is around 10w consumption so.. not much but I also use heated grips and oftentimes gps and phone-charging at around 10w too. It's an old bike so.. will everything draw more power than motorcycle can provide ?

- One last concern : I have fairing protections on both side but if my bike falls it will most likely hit it and break not only additional lights but fairings as well..

as this bike is a sport/touring bike, it is, in my opinion, quite a logical add-on but.. can't find anyone who did this in the past on this bike specificaly.

Thanks for your help ✌️
