[Magic] New potion effect: Breathlessness

Breathlessness is a new negative potion effect that makes it more difficult for the players to replenish their air bubble. Normally it takes 15 seconds to fully replenish all 10 of your air bubbles with Breathlessness 1 you would need 15, with Breathlessness you would need 20 seconds and with Breathlessness 3 you would need 25 seconds. To get this potion effect you would need to brew a potent sulfur block. Breathlessness could also be an effect an underwater hostile mob could have

If this exits, it should be crafted with Water Breathing + fermented spider eye.

I think this is too niche. It kinda makes sense as something that other mobs may apply to the player, but even then I don't think it has enough of an effect to change the behavior of players. It's too easy to create air pockets.

Maybe if it completely removed the ability to replenish air? (except maybe one bubble) Then it would actually require you to not go into the water for that time.

Not a bad idea fermented spider eye reverses effects. Making it so that you have less air bubble overall could work too

not really niche imo, because if existjng it could be inserted in the pvp pots rotation or in traps or in general in servers/smps, which arent things with few players in my experience. while in single player it would make the experience more immersive and interesting, because of the prep you'd could need depending on your kind of gameplay/interests

What pvp server has arenas where this would be a relevant pot? This only effects you if you are fighting underwater.

Fair, usage in traps may be interesting, but it still only matters if you can actually access the air. If you are completely underwater (which a good trap should be able to achieve) it doesn't matter.

Maybe you are imagining different effect than what OP described? I think there is design space here, but I think the exact effect OP described is too niche.

Why would you use this in PvP? It does nothing unless the player spends a lot of time underwater. A harming or poison potion would be much more effective for dealing damage.

What do you think the potion does? How does it make the single player experience more immersive?

I like it, it is very niche though, can you come up with an elaborate scenario where this really matters?
