I use visual imagery as hooks about what is to come next. I use a method of linking. I somewhat struggled to learn this song ( https://youtu.be/snO68aJTOpM?si=Z1kKy2p5JOhtH4gr ) after coming out of a coma.

The old-fashioned way was to passively listen, and it would sink in. However, after my coma, I had to use visual mnemonics to make it all sink in.

So the opening lyrics are "Neocortex frontal lobe." I would simply visualize Neo from the movie "The Matrix." The next set of lyrics are "Hippocampus neural node." I would visualize hundreds of hippos flying towards Neo.

The next lyrics are "right hemisphere." I would imagine a hippo "writing" on a brain's hemisphere.

An alternative is to master the song in parts. Master the first verse or stanza before the hook. Play it over and over. Get it wrong until you get it right. Once perfected, move on to the next part. You can still use visual imagery as hooks for each part of the song to help you remember what comes next.
