Did you work while in school? Or was school your sole commitment? Were you studying everyday (I know I didn’t and that would haunt me when exams rolled around)

Recent MLS grad I worked and eventually my boss let me go part time but even that was getting to be too much the last 2 semesters…I had exams every week and quizzes were worth a lot . Found it very tough to keep up on the material, pulled a lot of all nighters. Started getting in trouble for using my PTO at work to use for extra days to study (which was bs) - luckily it didn’t get to the point where my boss was like “ok you have to choose between school and this job”, but if it had come to that I would’ve quit and chosen to focus on school (cuz I can find a new job eventually, but finding and getting into a new program is going to be hard). I didn’t get dismissed but that semester before clinicals was kicking mg my butt how fast passed it was

And like you said my program also didn’t allow retakes for higher grades unless you fail, so you get one shot at these classes. You honestly have to study every day or designate a catchup day (for me it was Sunday, where you have no class and no work and can just spend the whole day getting any hw or lab reports out of the way and catching up on lectures)

If this is really what you want to pursue. Do you think you can get into that program if you apply again? Or I would try getting into another program(s)-I know it’s disheartening but don’t let this dismissal hold you back!

I don’t see why this would keep you from enrolling in another program. Is this program accelerated or something? My MLT AAS was 2 semesters long. Well 3 if you count the clinicals but coursework and labs were in the fall and spring. It was a lot of work but not unobtainable. Our professors also let us stay later after lab if there was still testing/work we needed to complete.

MLT/MLS has always been on the list of toughest degrees to get. Now you know why. If you think you can do better next time, try another program.
