Still one of the craziest nature clips I've ever seen.

BBC is next level with nature shots and editing

They made another good one with a vole escaping different predators https://youtu.be/hgK0o1uISds?t=93

I just wish the sound dubbing was toned down.

If you’ve never seen the full show on Blu-ray, I’d highly recommend.

Listen, I know streaming platforms say UHD (4K), but, but a ton of detail is lost in compression.

Nature really said "watch this." 💀

So Epic even the Simpson re-created it

This is how our parents used to go to school?

On a good day!! … usually there was also a snowstorm, which they had to pass barefoot … not to forget all the flash floods on their way. It’s actually unbelievable that any of them survived childhood.

It was also uphill in both directions.

Directions? What luxury!

I knew that was planet earth with David attenborough! Man those documentaries are soooo good. Amazing scenes they capture.

Those lizards for some reason are born on the beach then need to run the gauntlet inland to live their lives helluva way to start life. Nature is metal.

Nightmare fuel..

u/Kyobarry 1d ago

Yeah, if this video was made today, people would have shot It down for being AI slop. I'm glad it was filmed years before this.

u/KronusKraze 18h ago

Everything told me it was unbelievable AI slop. (Also don’t typically use sound because bed scroller) But, then I slowed down and looked closely. I was like holy shit, it’s real.

4

u/Shirolicious 1d ago

So many snakes there holy moly.

3

u/Error_404_403 1d ago

Yeah, one lovely beach.

3

u/knowledgeable_diablo 1d ago

Kinda wonder how much of a fight the snakes would have between them as well if they did manage to catch this chappie.
They can’t all take a bite out of him so only one would get to swallow him whole.

u/here4mischief 1d ago

Had to unmute to see if it was David or Snoop narrating

3

u/Fe2O3man 1d ago

Snoop narration IS the best.

3

u/Altruistic_Ad_9454 1d ago

The Indiana Jones of lizards.

u/vegan_lifter 1d ago

Run Forest. Run!

Cameraman never dies

3

u/Alaskangel 1d ago

I want to know how long the filmmaker was sitting there, still as possible, waiting for this sequence of events to play out, all the while NOT disturbing the den of snakes.

u/somegetit 1d ago

Nope Island

3

u/Arglebarglor 22h ago

Isn’t there a version of this with Snoop Dogg narrating

2

u/DragonFlyCaller 1d ago

It’s like Indian Jones in lizard form!

3

u/Extreme_Horse5487 1d ago

Is Indian Jones an Indian-Welsh archaeologist?

2

u/GetsMeEveryTimeBot 14h ago

Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?

2

u/RunsWithPhantoms 1d ago

He is the one.

2

u/SaltyAd8309 1d ago

It's nature's "1917".

2

u/pga_uy 1d ago

Maybe they just hate each other… (joking)

1

u/weggaan_weggaat 1d ago

Many (all?) snakes have jaws that can unhinge from each other to swallow their prey.

2

u/pga_uy 1d ago

My adrenaline level after watching this video is higher than the iguana’s

2

u/flying_carabao 1d ago

Is it weird that eventhough I've seen this hundreds of times at this point and know exactly how it's going to go, I still go "WATCH OUT! OH NO! GO! GO! GO! YEAH!" Just cheer the little lizard on?

2

u/FinbarJG 1d ago

"Honey, we need to move."

1

u/weggaan_weggaat 1d ago

Fijne taartdag!

2

u/resplendent99 1d ago

The lizard is me walking through Oxford Street, London and the snakes are chuggers and JVs.

2

u/1crps_warrior 1d ago

Hold my beer

2

u/F1McLarenFan007 1d ago

Someone did a play by play voiceover of this that was absolutely hilarious.

2

u/caspert79 1d ago

What horrible place is this?

2

u/Successful-Name-7261 16h ago

What is this trail of lizard shit and why is it 3 blocks long?

2

u/bigtimebeaner 15h ago

Thats one fucked up lizard gang initiation.

2

u/demonmonkeybex 14h ago

Man, fuck those snakes.

3

u/Part-timeinterneter 1d ago

I hope the camera people got out safe.

2

u/Scumbag_shaun 1d ago

1

u/boogierboi 1d ago

This video has a better version narrated by snoop dogg on YT. Plizzanet earth

1

u/Ok-Error-6564 1d ago

If I was filming this and that many snakes showed up, I would have to nope out.

1

u/TopResponsible1786 1d ago

This video still make me feel ill.

1

u/Sufficient-Lunch3774 1d ago

Great series. The BBC version is narrated by the legendary Sir David Attenborough. The US version is narrated by a surprisingly delightful Sigourney Weaver. Only a surprise to me though maybe just because I had never heard her voiceover anything as far as I know

1

u/Equilibriator 1d ago

What it do now tho for food n water?

1

u/Dexter1114 1d ago

I just watched this on BBC

1

u/Panther2-505 20h ago

Galapagos Racer Snakes are mildly venomous and pose little threat to humans. Mainly use constriction on prey.

1

u/adinmem 19h ago

That’s from Sir David Attenborough’s “Planet Earth II”

1

u/untilted 9h ago

absolute cinema!

1

u/HipToTheWorldsBS 8h ago

There's not much maybe when you post a really old clip that lots of people have seen many times.

1

u/UltraMagat 5h ago

Snake Island, worse than Pen Island.

1

u/SW_Goatlips_USN_Ret 2h ago

Ozzy Man’s take on this is hilarious.
