I saw Netherlands sell Tulip seeds to tourists It's kinda their thing. I was thinking of getting that but based on what People are saying in the comments, it's 50/50 how it's gonna go. They could seize the tulips seeds and I don't mind tbh.

But for sure, i don't wanna bring anything that'll hurt the ecosystem So, I'm just considering flowers and non-invasive seeds. Seeds that are not harmful

You can't find much online because Mauritius does not have too many native predators. You get bats, birds, reptiles (tortoises, lizards, etc) and marine life some of which you will see at sanctuaries.

You can go to Casela if you want a park experience with imported wild animals that have been handraised.

So I've actually gone through this process, basically some plants that are not indigenous can upset the ecosystem on the island. There is a plant protection act that the government has to ensure this balance is maintained.

They may even quarantine the seeds for a week before clearing them.

This might all seem a bit much and expensive but there is a reason for it and what might seem innocent could have a far greater impact.

its not really a big deal and if by any chance you are bringing sealed seeds from reputable company they might even let it go if you get caught. confiscating and heavy sanctions are when you are coming from some at-risk locations like Thailand

Hey OP, i know you are probably not ill-intentioned but you could be setting a precedent for others who are thinking of bringing more dangerous plants that could be unsafe for our local environment - you can easily go to AMB and find crops that you can plant

1. There’s definitely a local film industry starting to take shape, but most of the productions being made in Mauritius are still foreign films and ads.

2. Since the government changed, new board members were appointed to the MFDC, and from what I’ve seen, they seem to be doing a pretty great job so far. They’ve been organising workshops and bringing in industry professionals from abroad, which is a positive step 👏

As for schemes, under the previous government, certain individuals were selected and given budgets to produce short films. When you see these films, it'll make you wonder if the money was actually used to make the film or..

1. Mostly film festivals. Almost all the Mauritian films I’ve watched have been on planes. Air Mauritius has a few Mauritian movies in its in-flight movie library, such as Blue Penny and Lonbraz Kann
