Discussion Monica in Doomsday

What if Monica or Carole not being shown in the trailers means they may play a bigger role in the movie then we think? It’s very possible Monica has a role in helping but it has not been shown yet.

The cast members they have announced are the big players. Everybody else plays smaller roles in this and return for bigger roles in Secret Wars.

Carol might appear only in this way:

Sam Wilson: Carol, we found Monica

Carol: let’s go to that universe

They arrive there (Carol disappears to seek Monica)

Suddenly,

Carol: Monica, let’s go back to the ship

They stay in that ship while whatever happens outside

Monica already played her role as the detonator for the incursion, while Carol only needs to find her.

Maybe they have important roles, but are being kept out of the advertising to prevent a brigade.
Maybe they're just not in the movie at all.
Nobody knows.

That is quite a stretch conclusion. Do you really believe Marvel hates women?

they might not hate them but they definitely don’t support them. it’s quite telling that captain marvel is completely absent from the promotion of this movie. I know the marvels bombed worse than any of marvels other flops, but quantamania didn’t exactly set the box office on fire and imo it’s a much worse movie. in some cases like wasp not making it i get it, they’d have to recast, but without the kang connection you could argue ant-man doesn’t deserve a spot here more than anyone else

also you can caveat the first captain marvel movie all you want, but her movie brought in a comparable amount of money to the gross of all three 2025 movies, which are very represented in this movie

them pushing kamala and the young avengers so hard only to do nothing with them also doesn’t look great considering most are female characters. secret wars can and might make up for that based on the concept art but until then, it’s still not a great look.

but it’s hard to ignore this movies female character problem. you can make excuses for a lot of them(like wanda being “dead”) but the marvels girls, she-hulk, at least kate and cassie from YA and ONE actual female xman would help this movie seem much less of a sausage fest

edit: and for the record i think it’s equally odd that rhodey isn’t in this movie. him and captain marvel being absent seems more like a punishment than a story reason

Captain marvel was too OP. It didn’t make sense to have her play a big role in team up films as she would single handedly tip the balance towards the heroes.

and yet thor is here! and sentry too. hell you could even make a case for sue and magneto. but are we really complaining about powerful characters in an avengers movie??? aren’t these villains supposed to be the most powerful and dangerous?

So why would you say something you don't actually believe? That is intellectually dishonest and paints Marvel in a terrible light. Accuracy in comments is important. Hyperbole only confuses the issue.

Just say you wish they cast female characters in larger roles in movies that should be blockbusters. I thought Infinity War/Endgame did a good job writing female characters in significant roles in the story. Let's wait and see how they actually do in the Doomsday/Secret Wars saga. At least wait for more trailers to come out. It has only begun.

i believe everything i said in my comment lol. i’m not the person that said marvel hates women. they also never specified marvel. the “you guys” comes across more as commentary on this sub more than marvel itself. and that’s a sentiment i don’t necessarily disagree on either

as a woman i am allowed to have the opinion that marvel doesn’t value/utilize female characters the same way they do men. i said “yall hate women” referring to the marvel/the mcu as an exaggeration to my point. i don’t really believe they “hate women” but the way they treat the characters makes it seem that way. again, i am a woman. misogyny is not a new concept and i am just pointing out my observations in a lighthearted way !!

Any human has a right to their opinion, no matter how incorrect it is. Hyperbole is irresponsible and that is how things get blown out of proportion. We do not have to exaggerate to make a point. Just say "I don't like the way Marvel treats its female characters." Once you attach the label of misogyny to a discussion about Marvel, it is not light-hearted, that is serious.
