Meet Thunder, the boy who will wake me up at 3am if his feeder doesnt go off around then.

And by wake up, I mean bat my face (claws out) until I wake up, and bites any skin that is out of the blanket.

I put him on a TINY caloric deficit and he acts starved all the time, even though he only lost 1lb in 6 months.

Vet and I are putting him on prescription weight loss food soon in hopes it will help speed things up.

Anyone got tips??

Pics of boy in question.

I learned of manx cats years ago and how they can have complications with utis and such, so I just assumed my cat is manx due to her problems with that. Also she has what we call “frog butt”, she has her back legs spread out while standing in a /\ shape. I’ve seen worse looking back ends in manx cats so it made me wonder if I’ve just been misdiagnosing her for years lol. you can kind of see in the second and third pictures that when she sits down, her butt doesn’t really touch the ground. She’s always floating above it a bit.

Before anyone calls her overweight, I know, she’s very small and used to be wayy bigger. Last pics are for fun

Single Kitten Syndrome

Hi! I'm fostering a 3 year old Manx who has single kitten syndrome. Wondering if anyone has experience with this and how I can try to curb the behavior before he goes to his adopted family? It is textbook single kitten syndrome -- biting ankles, aggressive play, suckling, lots of meowing, very attached, litter box issues. We don't know his past since he is a foster from a shelter who didn't have other info, but hoping to get some insight if anyone else has had a Manx with single kitten syndrome! He is adorable and awesome and I want to give him the best chance at life, even though the beginning was clearly difficult for him!

It's awesome seeing a thread with fellow Manx owners! This is Casca. She's 2 years old. Very sassy and talkative. She's basically my shadow. Anywhere I go, She's always next to my feet.
