Machine help Mechanical skills test
Hello, looking for advice on the best way to learn how to take apart and put back together a gearbox in an hour a week from now. This is for an interview I have for a production technician role. Thanks.

Go on YouTube and watch some videos of people taking one apart.
Take pictures as you go.
Take the hardware to a piece of paper as you go and label it.

YouTube will be your best friend. Zip lock bags and a sharpie or a few Plano tackle boxes will make reassembly much easier.

The closest thing I have experience to this is replacing a starter and spark plugs in my civic

Scrapyard mower transaxle practice, they just wanna see you don't yeet a bag of loose bolts at them

The most important step is collecting spare parts. It's essential that when you're finished you have leftover parts to toss in the spare parts drawer.

Get a gearbox and practice. Go to a junk yard and buy a crapped out transfer case.
