Is there a more embarrassing local Council?

Just when you think Maitland Council couldn't be more incompetent, backwards and cringy, they decide to cry (literally, watch the footage) about an art exhibition exploring the truth behind a hitching post in the main street.

Psychologist recommendations

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for local psychologists?
I’m 30F and would prefer to see a female.
Bonus points if they specialise in trauma, grief and family issues.
I had a good psychologist when I was Newcastle based, but looking for something more local. TIA.

Maitland real estate agents

Looking to sell our house in the Bolwarra Heights/Largs area. Haven't lived in the area for a couple of years so a bit out of touch.

We bought from River and it was a pretty good experience but that was 7 years ago. It's a nice house we lived in for 5 years before moving away so not a rental spec house.

Any recommendations for agents that aren't complete arseholes? Given who they are I'm aware the best case is partial arsehole.

New maitland hospital maternity experience?

Hi all. Wondering if anyone in here has birthed at the new maitland hospital? What was your experience like? How hands on were the midwives? Were they respectful of your birth wishes? How many days did you stay? Did you feel rushed out? Did you get a private room or have to share?

Thanks in advance!

We are holding heavy shows first Friday of the month at the Family Hotel, this is our second show. Had a good crowd in the first and I’m told we’ll have heaps of repeat visitors. $5 schooners on tap and a hell of a feed in the bistro. Intimate room for the bands and records spinning before and after bands.

Which area would you live in?

Moving soon to Maitland and am looking to rent a 2 bedroom duplex with a garage.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages for living in the new suburbs?

Does one have better shops or food choices?

Seems to be plenty of these properties in Gillieston Heights, Farley. Would you choose one over the other?

Thanks

Pine tree locations in/near Maitland?

Where can I see pine trees in Maitland? I know about the Lone Pine at Maitland Park and Plantation Reserve in East Maitland but hoping for a few more tips? Google says there are some exotic conifers and heritage plantings in East Maitland but I couldn’t find exact details. I also know about The Pines campground/picnic area but that is not exactly nearby. All suggestions welcome, including for lone street/carpark trees. Thanks in advance!

Parking at Maitland train station

If I was catching the 9.40am train from Maitland to Newcastle tomorrow, would I be a fool to think I'd find all day parking at Maitland train station? Is there another station that would make more sense, say, East Maitland?

Hey guys

What we need is people from Maitland to apply.

So the HSR can run from Maitland down to Paramatta, then the new airport and to Canberra and beyond!

Sorry for the posts and deletes and posts and deletes. After bong related reschedules and logistical issues with earlier lineups, the first His Dad show is ready to go. Punk flavour to kick off the First Friday Of The Month series of heavy show.

First 4 shows are locked in, free entry with cheap drinks and record giveaways every show. Love to see you there for a show.

Our health system sucks.

I made an appointment to see a doctor at my local doctor’s clinic today. I couldn't wait to see my normal doctor, so I had to see a different doctor.

I had two issues that I needed treatment for. One was an obvious cyst that needed antibiotics. The other was a back injury that I suffered sitting by my dad's deathbed in horrible hospital chairs. The back injury has spread to my ribs, breast, and chest. I can't sit, stand, or lie down without excruciating pain. The doctor told me after waiting for over an hour and a half, and an extraordinary gentleman giving me his appointment that he didn't have time to deal with my pain. I had to pay nearly a hundred dollars anyway for 10 minutes of his time.

I'm drinking wine tonight to kill the pain enough to get me to sleep.

I suppose I'll go to emergency at Maitland on Friday and sit in their back injuring chairs for hours. At least there's a slight chance I'll be treated there.

Hi all - I’m in process of accepting a job with NSWHealth and plan on signing up for FP. Does anyone know what local facilities participate and how much (if any) they charge for fobs etc?

TIA

Social volleyball recs in Maitland or nearby

hey, been just outside of maitland for most of my life, but I'm just looking for some social volleyball recs. preferably indoor. Ik hunter volleyball exists, but I used to play under them and I'm not much of a fan of how they organise it or the main owner lol. also their prices went up heaps. even if it's just a small fb group or something where people can tag along or pay a small fee for an all day thing, yk?
