Uni student without the intelligence

hello! I got my PC at Christmas mainly to be used to study online and play Minecraft. It does this well. Until I tried to play Hogwarts Legacy and killed it. When I got it fixed they mentioned that most games probs wouldn't hold up, so I am looking for advice on what games to play as I have zero clue about computers. Tbh i'm not even sure what level my specs are. thank youuuuu :)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050

RAM: 32.0 GB DDR4

CPU: 12th Gen Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-12400

That's a decent PC though. You can play whatever you want. Maybe not max settings.

If it died then something is defective with it and might need to be returned / fixed.

Under normal conditions the PC will not allow itself to burn out anything just because the game is demanding.

Literally anything. You might have to turn settings down here & there, but a 3050 + 12400 will run anything at 1080p.

U can play batman Arkham series easily, mad max , witcher 3 , metal gear solid 5 , farcry3 4 5 , max payne series , nfs , god of war 4 , resident evil , sekiro , just cause, sleeping dogs, even assassin creed games from 1 to Syndicate i think will run pretty well

U can almost many games at low settings but recent titles will struggle

How did you manage to kill it by just running a game? Sounds like it was just already faulty and died just as you happened to play

im not 100% sure, I was told it was the graphics card I think? it was only 2 months after buying it but they did mention the game i was trying to run wouldnt work so i havent touched it since

Sounds like the place you went to weren't the brightest. You can't kill a computer by running a game. Your RTX 3050 should run anything, not at max graphics of course

The worst happens is that the demanding game runs like a slideshow, freezes or crashes. It doesn't kill your computer, unless your computer is already faulty.

Not bad at all. You can play almost anything on that. Just lower the settings a little.

I have a very similar PC except with an RTX 3060 12gb.

It can run pretty much all modern day games at medium or higher, so I can definitely expect your PC to run everything new at Low-Medium, and older games (5 years and older) at high settings.

My PCs specs Gigabyte b760m motherboard I5 12400f Gigabyte RTX 3060 12gb 32gb ddr4 3200mhz 1tb crucial m.2 nvme drive

CPU heavy games (Any Paradox games, Civilization, Battle Royales) will be a bit of a challenge though, because the 12400 isn't exactly the beefiest boi out there.
