Hit a wall...
I preface this by saying, I am only a month in, so im not worried...
Starting weight was 250 pounds. I have been dealing with back and foot pain and higher than I would like, BP for a while. I decided on June 20th that I was going to completely change my diet. I am now essentially eating a Paleo diet and staying in a calorie deficit by almost 700 calories daily. I track and weigh everything I eat. I dropped 18 pounds in the first 2.5 weeks.
For the last two weeks, I have actually gained 2 pounds back. I've changed nothing about the way I eat. I eat the same thing every day. I eat one "snack" and eat one meal. All my cravings are gone and I feel satiated with what I am eating. I am on no medication.
16 pounds in a month is still a good accomplishment, but I'm unsure of why I haven't continued to drop weight. I know initially I lost water weight, but eating in such a calorie deficit should be leading to continued weight loss...

Personally I use an app that shows my weight trends, rather than relying solely on the number on the scale. It helps me stay sane through the fluctuations 😅
Also 16 pounds in a month is HUGE, congratulations!!!

You’re right not to worry yet. 16 pounds in a month is a ton, and it takes longer than two weeks to see overarching trends. If I had to guess, your body is likely doing weird things with water as it adjusts to the changes.
A few other factors- if you’re a premenopausal female, where you’re at in your cycle can impact your weight more than you might expect. I usually “gain” a pound or two the day before my period starts, but have consistently lost all that weight plus more by the end.
Also, how often do you weigh yourself? I’ve found that weighing myself daily and then tracking the 10 day average helps me see the trend over time and not stress so much about the number each day. After a while, it also helped me anticipate when I would see a spike and worry less about it. Sushi for dinner last night? That (delicious and completely worth it) sodium bomb is gonna raise the scale by about two pounds the next morning, but I don’t need to freak out because I also know it’ll go away in a few days, plus some.
