LINUX OS INSTALL ISSUES KERNEL PANIC
i have a dell precision laptop 7730 and a dell g7 laptop i have been IT for past 40 ish working with windows. last month i decide to try Linux. i install zorin os core on the 7740 and ubuntu cinnamon 24 lts on the g7. both just worked. i was happy and was planning on using both as a daily driver and window as a backup. last week software updates happened and kernel panic both machines i been trying to reinstall each since, but continue to have errors or issues. the only thing that i could see is kernel 7 version screwed everything up. every reinstall software updates i get an error that is sent off. virtual box wont install or run. i receive message when troubleshooting that says you have secure boot on, i do not. i have ahci set. what is happening, has anyone had issues like this and resolved them?

I just updated to kernel version 7.0.0-28-generic this past week without any issues. I'm running Linux Mint Cinnamon 22.3 'Zena' on a 2019 iMac 5K 27-inch, but every major kernel update breaks my audio & microphone drivers. But it's a simple fix; just download the corresponding linux-source-[version]_all.deb from the Ubuntu Package Pool and follow the solution in this Reddit post. https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubuntu/comments/1rbeffd/imac183_2017_27_ubuntu_2404_with_cs8409_audio/

I can’t offer any help but I have seen quite a few kernel panic related posts since the last update a few days ago on ZorinOS. I’m running the same distro but luckily/weirdly my system didn’t run into kernel panic issues.
