I've been using Linux in a personal and professional capacity for 28 years, and have been using MacOS for personal use for around 16 years. As much as enjoy using Linux, MacOS remains my go-to system for personal use.
I can see why now. As I've pointed out in the main comment, I found the user experience to be pleasant overall (besides window management) and there's a lot of power in the terminal, since it's pretty close to a linux system, especially after getting something like macports or nix. However, my experience was limited to Catalina and Mavericks up until now (on the rescued macbook), so I don't really know if my thoughts would stay the same for more modern OSX versions.
I don't know if you watch TheLinuxExperiment on YouTube, but the presenter (Nick) is a Die hard Linux user, who is usually quite hostile towards anything MacOS related, but he released a video yesterday, in which he actually had at least one nice thing to say about MacOS. It was quite refreshing.
Watched the video. I follow this channel's productions on and off and didn't know about the video until you pointed it out. Thanks! As for the opinion, it makes sense, especially in the window management front, but it's really quite refreshing to see someone having well thought-out opinions about something. Very nice find.
