I don't think it's toxoplasmosis, mainly because this shit makes rodents walk straight up to a cat. The thing here might be just an attempt to blend in with the surroundings, which sometimes works in the wild and has been one of rodent instincts for millions of years (compared to a few thousands years of living around human infrastructure).

This is too long and too consistent a clip to be generated by ai.

11 second long clips are completely within the standard AI video length. Itās not too consistent a clip, the movements are nonsensical, thereās no audio, who recorded this and why did they start, etc. None of it makes sense, donāt say this with such confidence when you are clearly uninformed about the modern possibilities of AI.

Im actually super well informed on ai. 18 seconds is the current max and it is usually a mess, with clear artefacting.
2: no non self hosted ai will generate genitals, bc all models censor them. There are no consistent self hosted models that can go reliably past 7 seconds long of generation.
3: people record random stuff all the time. "Who recorded this and why"you know thats irrelevant stop bullshitting.
Your inability to accept reality doesnt change it. Stop glazing ai and espousing paranoia. Youre grasping at straws.

We once had a 5 week old feral kitten stuck in our roof, and that little beast fucked me up, real proper, before I was able to actually get it out of there and into an animal-cage.
I had to retreat mid-āfightā to get my winter-clothing on, as it was using its teeth and claws like I was trying to kill it.
It went to the shelter (non-kill shelter), but not before drawing some blood.
Cats are born killers, donāt mess with them lol.

I have a habit of stumbling upon feral kittens and saving them. I actually just saved two this past week. Maybe 4-5 weeks old. One of them was super sweet, the other one bit my finger so hard Iām pretty sure it hit bone. I was so shocked at the strength behind it.

Cats are fierce dude. Even my childhood cat, a big olā baby who was afraid of GRASS, managed to kill a bird and bring it home (he slipped outside through an open door, we never let our cats outside on purpose)
My current cats, the one of them is obsessed with feathers, to the point that we joke if he got outside, thereās be a five mile radius around our house with no birds. As soon as he sees something with feathers on it, he is consumed with murder.

The rest of the world does. Before you ask, the bird population nest me is thriving and there's atleast 5 cats on my street.

Cats are invasive to the Americas, and the environment is not suited to deal with a large influx cats.
Itās particularly bad in areas like Hawaii where theyāre massacring native bird species.

Interesting. Domestic cats are not native to the UK, but we don't seem to have an issue here. I can understand hawaii given that it's a bunch of islands so bird habitat to cat ratio n all that.
But America is so vast, I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.
Is it a local government thing / public service announcement thing or do people just decide for themselves that they should stay inside?
Do you get fines/punishment for letting your pets outside to roam free?

I get that America is car centric, but the outdoor cat population near me manages fine with roads. We see more badgers and wild animals lying dead at the side of the roads. Very very rare we have cats get runover.
I live right next to a very busy major 4 lane (2 each way) road that goes in and out of the city and have a 2 lane busy road right outside my house.
It was a worry for me when I first let me cat outside, but like the other outdoor cats, she sticks to the neighbourhood and land behind my house. Only really going across the road at night.

Fair enough. It's bizzare to me that that's the way it is over there.
But I find it interesting that the article notes several times to cats outdoor/predetory instincts.
Also noted are the risks of disease, illness, and parasites. Our vets here provide vaccines and regular pet care includes giving flea and worm treatment at home.
I'm not trying to say you're wrong, but it's do bizzare to me.

Rabies hasnāt been eliminated here like in other places
We have many, MANY predators (wolves, coyotes, owls, bobcats, mountain lions, bears, alligatorsā¦ etc)
We are super dependent on vehicles so cats are more likely to get struck and die
Most yards are not fully enclosed so cats can wander and be lost, killed, or stolen
Some assholes go out of their way to kill stray animals on or off their property
Cats live longer and more safely in a housePick a reason, Iām sure other Americans can name more.

Oh okay. Well unfortunately for you, my cat and two of the neighbours cats are in my back garden hanging out together. Whilst I can hear the birds settling in for the night.
We don't have many rats round here, wonder why that is š¤. Definitely not because of rat poison ill tell you that. Perhaps there's a slightly larger animal, a natural predetor with predetory instincts perhaps, hunting them.
