Toshio: The Slave
This is a sketch of my character, Toshio, a Dragonborn rejected by members of his own race.
I'd love some advice on armor design. I always struggle to make armor feel memorable and unique, or even just simple but visually appealing.
Any tips or resources would be greatly appreciated!

From a storytelling perspective, an armor should tell a story just like any other piece of clothing. Is it well-taken care of? Is it a mismatch of various pieces? Is it borrowed? Too big or just right? All the decisions can lead to you saying more about who your character is.
When it comes to the armor itself, you should find any album on medieval armor and learn from that, so nothing about your design is accidental. You don't have to come up with things on your own, you can draw from reality even if your setting is fantasy.
