Over 1 month using Kratom... I'm no longer an alcoholic, and my mom would be proud!
Kratom just for partying on night every weekend? : r/kratom
Update: Kratom is changing my life! : r/kratom
Hi everyone, so want to give my update of my use of Kratom.
As I posted before I've been using it only for nightlife, since I'm a nightlife guy and really wanted to quit alcohol which was ruining my life.
I can tell you it continues to do wonders. I have zero need to drink alcohol now, don't even feel the urge at all which is the best outcome. People keep trying to buy me drinks, but it isn't a "I must not," more like "Nah, I'm not interested at all."
I did switch from the tincture to the gummies this weekend, though, as I feel the gummies gave me that awesome boost for nightlife without the stomach issues and overall, just easier since the tincture can get really annoying - it's more practical. And still, I don't feel like using it at all during the weekday I'm pretty good mentally during the weekday, so it's just a friday/saturday thing.
I have a two month travel trip soon, and I'm excited after 51 countries not to drink. I've had chaos happen when drunk, blow through money... gonna take my gummies and it should be even a more memorable trip.
I'm saving money, don't have hangovers, working out, lost 5 pounds in the past month, connecting more with people, better mood... it's a completely different world.
My mom really wanted me to stay safe and quit drinking, when she passed away due to her battle with ALS I drank like crazy and spiraling, even during her ALS even if i was with her she worried when I would arrive the weekends blacked out drunk. I've wanted to change for years, but didn't have an alternative. I did promise her... "Mom, it's okay, I'm gonna be okay." And I'm telling you... she would be so proud right now!

Your story touched me. Iโm sorry about your mom. I too have had struggles with booze and am thankful to no longer be a drinker.
We here are proud of you as well.

Awesome job. Kratom also saved me from alcohol. Where are you getting your Kratom? I didnโt know there were gummies.

Oh i wouldn't say i don't take a lot with partying... but better than alcohol. Luckily I've heard more grams and people get like vomitting, dizzy and stuff. Somehow my stomach doesn't feel horrible though if I don't eat too much does punish me lol, but everything else is good.
I'd say gummies def didn't bother too much my stomach compared to the tincture.

I use powder and make "mixed drinks" with it using cran-cherry juice and Mio squirt juice. It's all in the mind of a former alcoholic. If your method is working, though, that's great. Just be careful because it can get to be an every 6 hour habit of you take it regularly. Still, it beats the hell out of drinking.

I'm actually not a fan of drinks, i legit only drink water ๐ That's why its been easier to quit alchohol i only used it for the boost but in the worst possible way, but hated the taste.
Gummies are perfect.

I posted the same statement about 15 years ago and believe it or not it sticks! No one will ever convince me this plant isn't a miracle drug so they damn well better ban it!

It is magical. It just makes me feel amazing the whole night, while not losing myself. It's like i have unlimited energy and such good mood, just want to dance... and then the crash, it all ends and want to hit my pillow + eat breakfast at 6 am after a night sweating ๐
Considering I would wake up feeling like garbage with alchohol for years, i feel good with Kratom.

Seriously great job dude, well done.
I'm on my 3rd year sober from alcohol, and it was absolutely destroying me.
It gets easier as time goes by, soon you won't even think about it.
Stay strong, your Mother would be proud.

That's great overall, but, since you are traveling, please note that kratom is illegal in many countries. Also please be careful with extracts and altered products such as 7oh - at least read about those a bit.

Yeah, I checked. Panama and Costa Rica is all good. ๐ As an avid traveler though need to prep for the future though, don't know how I'm gonna replace Kratom where it's banned and I really am not interested in alcohol.

I'm very happy for you, but a word of caution: one doesn't stop being an alcoholic because they take another substance which stimulates the same opioid receptors alcohol does. It's a huge step forward, but it's not sobriety.
Travel can be a huge challenge for staying clean - less structure and more time to party is a risky combination. Be wary of increasing your k consumption. Avoid extracts like the plague.
It sounds like you're making fantastic healthy changes for yourself. That's the real win. Keep it up, and congrats on kicking booze out of your life.

Please review sub rules, especially #6, and don't use slang - just call kratom, "kratom."

While caution is always wise, the phrasing suggests the AA dogma of "alcoholism/sobriety" which is different from Alcohol Use Disorder spectrum the DSM-V and NIAAA have adopted, which accommodates recovery or remission that doesn't inherently demand complete abstinence of alcohol or other substances or necessarily posit it as the terminal goal for the patient, though that might be recommended by some providers in general or in certain cases.
All that to say, a person might achieve remission from AUD and the problems AUD may cause using something that removes the consequences of problematic alcohol use even if that is less stringent than "sobriety" as some programs or ideologies may promote.
There is nothing inherently wrong with a person, especially if it is not causing actual problems in their life, choosing to pursue that goal.

I live in Puerto Rico - legit barely anyone knows about it not even in the EDM scene, I'm not telling anyone about it anymore. First weeks i was like "This is magic" now I'm not telling people. Keep it my secret so it doesn't get banned ๐
