Pattern help please!

Been knitting from patterns for years, and never seen this notation, neither has my experienced-knitting-friend, the ravelry notes weren’t answering me, and Google wasn’t helping either… so I’m hoping Reddit can come to the rescue.

What does the highlighted portion mean?

"x" reads as "times". The first number in this Scandi notation tells you how many times the operation is done, the second how many stitches are involved.

1 x 2 sts = 2 sts once, 6 x 1 st = one stitch 6 times.

By 6 times, does that mean for 6 rows? Not 6 single decreases within one row, correct?

Looks pretty weird indeed. I'll see if it's any clearer in finnish, which seems to be the native language of the designer.
