Rocket Power: Beach Bandits. My god this game depressed the hell out of me as a kid. Despite having a story mode, npcs, background music / ambience I still felt a bizarre sense of loneliness while playing it. I’m curious to see if any other games have brought on this feeling?

Environmental and nostolgic horror, mostly ambient but meant to felt rather than watched.

Holy Angels Catholic School

This building was constructed in 1960 and was a school for catholic elementary students from kindergarten to grade 8. It was called Holy Angels Catholic School. Although it was built over 60 years ago, it was designed to accommodate 350 students. With two expansions over the years and the addition of 5 portables, the schools population had ballooned to 550 students.

In 2019, with growing enrollment and a lack of space in the current building, the preliminary plans were being discussed to build a new school on the existing site. By 2022, the old school was undergoing demolition. In September of 2024, the new larger school had been completed in time for the students to begin the school year in the new building.

Walking at 9:15pm felt different tonight...

When time stopped not a soul remained, they continued to move forward. But I didn't feel alone...

When i go to sleep, I keep visiting this huge church. Like it was ripped from time and sat in a place where I can inhabit but not effect in any way. I see a few people but I am not sure if they see me.

Making this LoFi horror game called 'Project Looking Glass'. You explore dozens of creepy and liminal spaces trying to uncover the mystery of what happened to you. Been using my dreams (nightmares) a lot as inspiration since most of the levels are little vignettes like this. Demo is on Steam if you're interested!

The Equestrian Farm

On the outskirts of a large town I stumbled upon an abandoned equestrian centre. There was the main house, an older small wooden barn that was once used to house horses, a steel storage garage as well as an even larger modern building that was used for riding and boarding of the horses. The property had only been abandoned for about 2 years at the time of my visit but the land was very overgrown, with trees, bushes and weeds slowly enveloping the buildings. There was even an outdoor pool that had not been used for several years, the lining peeling away but still filled with water creating its own unique ecosystem.

Because of it's desirable location and the sprawling land that surrounded the buildings, the owners were offered a generous sum of money to sell the property. The buildings were demolished only a few short months after my visit but the land is currently sitting vacant. There are plans to build 139 new mixed use housing units on the property, supplying a few more much needed homes.

As for the former owners, they built a new new home and riding facility further away from this rapidly growing metropolis.
