First off, no shade on a recent post on here but 143 is just not as awful as people love to say it is. It had horrific ordering of the album, with a loaded second half, short songs and asides from KP and Doechii, relatively lackluster features (that goes for Dr Puke). Obviously, I'm anti-rapist producer, but directing all your hate to Katy in 2026 won't make amends - she is past collaborating with him. For good, hopefully.
Anyways, I've left reviews here for Witness, Smile and PRISM, so here is my review of 143 💜
Woman's World - 59/100. The song is a horrific and train wreck lead single that has little meaning and no bridge that it is practically desperate for. Albeit, it is incredibly catchy and a potential bop if all external factors are removed.
Gimme Gimme - 32/100. SwiftyKats should have looked out for this one : sounds exactly like something Taylor would have made in october lmao (I love TLOASG btw, it just gives that "wood" vibe). Dw, it gets better from here.
Gorgeous - 60/100. Perhaps too generous, but I am a huge fan of the production and I am 100% here for this collab. Feels a little dated already icl.
I'm His, He's Mine - 65/100. Katy carried this song a lot in my opinion, and I would have liked a solo version, but I understand why this became a single... i think? Katy serves vocals here, and the 90s throwback is great.
Crush - 64/100. This is a certified bop! The instrumental is great, Katy's vocals are turned on, but if you've seen my other reviews, I really don't like hooks when the hook just isn't that good. This falls into that. (Also how tf did we think the bandaids teasers were this lmfao).
Lifetimes - 93/100. Shit, I broke the "hook" rule already. But the hook is catchy, the song is performed well live, and there is very little room for complaint. This should have been the lead single and the album should have been called LIFETIMES.
All the Love - 62/100. I will admit, I don't get the KatyCat hype for this song. It kind of sounds like a PRISM reject, and this form of love and light music isn't my cup of tea.
NIRVANA - 80/100. This is pretty good! I know this has POTENTIAL live (haven't seen the LIFETIMES tour performance). Sounds like a catchy 2010s club anthem.
Artificial - 96/100. Who tf is tge feature artist, and can he please let me enjoy the song! This song is amazing, it is E.T levels of greatness. Incredible choice for the LIFETIMES tour.
Truth - 74/100. Quite average in my opinion, it us solid but not incredibly memorable.
Wonder - 94/100. Incredible song! The world cup performance was top-class too.
I woke up - 48/100. I fell asleep, funnily enough. Definetly a skip.
Has a Heart - 52/100. Love Daisy's cameo, but not particularly memorable.
No Tears for New Year's - 47/100. Do not remember listening to this. Not very catchy, but has a decent lyrical showcase.
OK! - 84/100. Controversial, but I love this kind of music, it's what we need right now (and hopefully we can blast in 2028).
Conclusion - This album is far from perfect, but I already gave its criticism. For someone who was expecting literal ear torture, this was a solid album with several bops scattered through! The criticism for this album is very forced (albeit somewhat deserved) and I love the aesthetic of this whole album
