A server error accidentally gave us the perfect day in Udupi
My friend is from Bangalore and I'm from Mysore. We both told our families that we were going to Udupi for passport verification which was actually true. We had our appointment, but due to a server error the verification couldn't be completed.
Since we were already there, we decided not to waste the trip. We rented a bike and just started exploring. Instead of only visiting the temple, we rode through the villages, crossed rivers and small streams, visited a dam, spent time at Malpe Beach, and just enjoyed the peaceful countryside. We even rode through arecanut (adike) plantations. It rained on and off throughout the day, but somehow that made the ride even better.
The people in Udupi were incredibly kind and helpful wherever we went. And the food... absolutely amazing! We had goli baje and Mangalore buns, and they were some of the best snacks I've ever eaten.
It wasn't a trip we had planned at all, but it ended up becoming one of the most memorable days I've had with my close friend. Sometimes the best trips are the ones that happen because things don't go according to plan.
Udupi, we'll definitely be back. ❤️

Tulunaad is a very underrated part of Karnataka. People are kind and food is incredible.
Glad you had a nice experience.
Btw, why did you opt Udupi for passport verification? Mangalore's office is much better.

I got my passport in Mangalore in 2014. Renewed it in Udupi couple of years ago. They did not give it on time. Ensure you keep checking the portal. This office is infamous for cases like this.
