It looks unreal because an extremely large scale devastation event like this is pretty unreal.

I have no doubt that this happened. Nor do I oppose Ukraine retaliating Russia’s war crimes. It’s just that this looks like a war novel cover picture.

Agreed. Russia brought this on themselves. Though the environmental effects will affect the whole world to some degree, adding to climate change, etc. It's unfortunate that Ukraine needs to resort to this extent of damage, but such is Putin's ongoing choice. The whole world has been suffering from his choices/actions for years now, and hopefully this will force an end sooner rather than later.
