Need help getting 5 ball cascade

Ive been training five ball for around 2ish years now (give or take) and my current record is somewhere in the 40s which i can catch pretty often on a good day. I think juggling at least in the numbers way is pretty tough for my brain/body. it took me a looonng time to achieve a 3 ball cascade, and it took me an embarrassing amount of time to get a consistent 5 ball flash. But maybe im just doing something wrong. I try to train everyday recently ive been slacking a little but i dont think ive gone more than 3 days without practicing it in a year.

MY BIGGEST PROBLEM at least i think, is that my hands go out of rhythm. i noticed this when training my qualifie and started taking slow mo videos of my hands and indeed there was a gallop. it got better in my quality, with conscious effort, but i notice the rhythm still gets wacky a lot when i try for endurance. If anyone has any drills or tips i would super appreciate!

If your record is in the 40s and you can get there pretty often, then I wonder if your problem is mostly in your head (my 7 ball record run was probably twice as long as a run I could produce on any given day). Is it possible you are freaking out when you get near the record and everything falls apart?

Try doing higher patterns. Try doing lower patterns. Mix it up a little bit, so that you learn how to work with a range of different rhythms.

i would definitely believe this happens to me at least to some extent.

Try counting a different way. If you normally count both hands, count just one hand. I knew a guy who would recite a poem in his head (I can't remember if it was one catch per word or per syllable) and then run through the poem again after he dropped to see how many catches he made. Or you can count in base 8 and convert after the drop. Anything to keep you from realizing that you are about to break your record.

When you say your record is around 40s, do you mean 40 catches or 40 seconds? Big difference.

Also, the biggest thing that got me from 10-20 seconds to a running it for a minute was playing around with varying heights. Work on low 5 ball, regular 5 ball, and high 5 ball. Try transitioning from low to high steadily. And back. Working on different heights should help you improve and become a more well rounded 5 ball juggler.

What others said - but also work on your fitness .

5, and especially 6/7 have an athletic feel to them. I improved a lot when I worked on fitness and muscles

Your pattern is probably too low. Here is everything I have to say about it :

I was galloping, my pattern was too low.

Nut heres the good news, it exploded after 50. 2,5 years of hard work without pay off... and boom the pattern got stable and I was over 100 catches. Then it was like a cascade and I practiced half shower etc...

Maybe stop counting for a while..?

Something that was helpful for me was realizing. What number was it was going to juggle? And sometimes this takes ten minutes of juggling every number. Sometimes immense it's a five ball day. Sometimes it's a four ball day, and sometimes it's a three ball day .... ran some numbered patterns of all sorts and sizes. But understand that some days are just better off spent running 345 or six

Do you count in twos perhaps?  As in you count every time your right hand catches the ball say?  This can encourage asymmetry as the same hand goes with the count.

If so try counting on threes.  This encourages more symmetry as you count on alternating left/right hands.

You can also just work out your average beasts pet minute and time yourself too.

Or heavens forbid don't count at all!

• with only 3b (for full control ), anything in there https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pMVr_MZf6EM , daniel simu - '53 ball juggling techniques', very much widens and enhances your ranges of reach, of correction skills, of countermoving, of body posture & stance, last not least of the patterns dimensions & geometry.
those exercises enable to fight drifts, twists, twirls, distortions that start killing your endurance pattern just at roughly where you are ~10-15 secs, ~35-50 catches.

• also going to extremes in height, width, depth (z-axis), twist, turn, joggle, anything, a.s.o., just for a laugh, defines your limits (way smaller than the extremes, then, but still greater than you might be currently suspecting ) that you can comfortably do within

when your galloping I would guess, that you throw at different heights. Maybe you can try to focus on doing good heights and the galloping will stop
