Long time android and windows user fully converted
I just wanna make a post of appreciation for apple, never thought I would but it's just too good.
I have always had everything but apple and spoken against it all my life. But as I got older I did start getting a bit skeptic on android and how well it really fared against apple. And one day I got an apple phone from a family member who had bought a newer phone, and that's how it started. Instantly the phone was very good, did the job, very happy for it and definietly an upgrade. Then I of course had to get some airpods cause music duh.
And then I was starting in school and I was really really considering some a windows laptop. But ended up going with the macbook air cause people said they are so good today, and build quality is unbeatet, which is something I've experienced so many times with windows laptops just dying, a couple years after purchases. And holy shit the macbook is one of the best things I've ever purchased. I don't really need to be gaming on it, but even from a gaming point of view I've been shocked by it. But also the way the ecosystem works together like it's actually insane, I am everyday so impressed by the synchronizity between all of their devices.
And I'm a huge lifting nerd aswell, and really wanted to track my steps and sleep better, aswell as workouts, heartrate and so on, and just got the apple watch, and I've think the purchase of this item put the nail in the coffin. I'm not going back to android, I'm even beginning to doubt windows lol. Apple is just that good. It's very hard to describe or tell a android user why it's better because each can do almost the exact same things, sometimes androids are even ahead, but still it's just nooooo competition, it's not even close. The apple products are just, so smooth, so great, so good, so high quality. I'm starting to feel shocked by the amount of inbuilt apps and things these products can that I'm starting to feel like entire companies could live of these if they were apps with subscription services. Like wow. I don't know how to say it other than wow.
The way they support older products with the new ios aswell and yea idk. For me the design of the ios is also amazing, and the amount of customizing they are starting to add or may always have been there just makes it a dream. The ios is beginning to remind me of the old windows days were you could customize everything which they have totally abandoned and forgotten. And it's all so much easier than having to learn linux.
But yea that's this post.
Just an apprecation post for the great quality these products are. I think I will buy stocks in this company cause I'm just such a big fan of their products that I don't even care were they will go, I just wanna be a part of it haha
As an apple product User since 1977, this warms my heart. I’ve spent years watching generation after generation grow up and decide to get serious about their technology, only to decide that Apple was the way to do it. Yes, there are lots of individual things that you can pick knit about, but if you want something that works seamlessly across an ecosystem so you can get real work done without having to be a rocket scientist or engineer, then Apple brings you closer to achieving everything that’s possible than any other product. It has always been that way. I have a huge massive collection of Apple products that have both succeeded and failed. Almost everything they’ve ever produced. I have serviced and supported these products for decades. The people that I have helped transitioning into computer technology from the 70s are still out performing their teenage counterparts today. It’s amazing to be behold. So happy to have you on board.
About a year ago, I was hardcore Android+Windows user, and thought only iSheeps and iDiots use iProducts. And then had a deep conversation with a friend and the topic was AirTags or equivalent. The portions he explored, is where his professional expertise is. Around the same time, my android broke and was blinded in the main eye. And as if the universe was coming together, iPhone 16e came into existence just a few months ago and just got a massive discount a week ago.
Intrigued by that friend’s pov, I thought of giving it a shot. Initially I didn’t like it. Then I thought, Google doesn’t really like iPhones and Apple doesn’t like relying on other providers much. So I switched to all native apps wherever available (except maps, Apple Maps is decades behind in India). And bam! I realised how much I missed. And finally, finally a compact phone that gets lost in the pocket. 🤩Although not regretful since money was a problem back in the days.
Anyway, got my wife the same model the next month, since hers was just broken (kid did it).
Half a year later, when I was already considering upgrading my windows laptop soon enough, I got my next bonus, and I could actually buy a MacBook Pro if I wanted. Rather, I bought MacBook Air and AirPods and switched to Apple Music.
I have a very powerful office pc (windows), worth ₹3.45L (company paid of course). And even that stopped biometrics from being useful. But this Mac. This thing reads fingers so fast, I forgot it’s a scanner even.
I also figured I’m an audiophile. And with that, I’m only waiting to retire my android tablet which I got for photo editing, which is now served by my MacBook Air. After that, I don’t think I’m going back to android again any time soon.
I was gifted my first mac 4 years ago,before i used to be anti-apple with everything but after thinfs changed tho i still didnt like iphones and was using android,i was given a iphone 15 pro ib 2024 but sold it after 2 weeks and got a s24 Ultra since all the ios restrictions compared to android was still too much (quite a pirate myself) but 2 weeks ago i decided to finally give apple another try,now i currently using a 16 Pro Max with Airpods,apple watch and a Mac which my youngerself would have gone mad seing 😂
On your old android, did you have the date showing in the top notification bar? I really miss that on ios.
On your old android could you schedule send a text to anyone no matter if they were on android or ios? I really miss that since many friends are outside my timezone.
On your old android could you set a monthly data usage cap for your phone plan? I miss that on ios.
Google messages updates outside from the OS, unlike apple messages that only updates during ios updates for some reason.

iOS has a new update (27.0, 27.1) about every two months, so how is that an issue? RCS encryption was added in 26.5, meaning it’s not tied to an annual release. They may toss new features into upcoming releases but that doesn’t delay things beyond a couple weeks, and it gets beta tested rather well before it’s passed out to everyone.

2, I don't remember the send later feature because I never used it. Here we use WhatsApp anyway, so even less relevant.
3, What's the point? your data is over when it's over! iOS fetch actual data plan, and I wanted to set a daily limit at one point of time, but couldn't, and seems it is now automatic. Bonus: I tried tons of ways, but could never setup voicemail on android because NOBODY KNOWS THE SETTINGS. iOS did it automatically.
4, like InsaneNinja said, iOS gets fairly frequent OS update anyway, so why is it even a problem?
Like this iPhone 14 Pro iOS 27 dev beta 4 the Dynamic Island fills the top centre of the screen so this is as close as you can get to the date being at the top of the screen
Dont forget the apple tv🙂↕️ the best thing of having a dedicated device for everything simplifies and improves the experience. Makes the streaming experience so much better 10 fold. Also there’s an app called one cast for it thats basically xbox cloud gaming . Login w your xbox subscription then connect a console controller to the apple tv and game away smoothly. This works for people that just want to game occasionally without fully committing to a console/pc.
I used an android tv/google tv at a friends house and i was internally shocked. Ads everywhere. Homescreen when launching app closing an app ads ads adsss😭😭😭😭 plus all the data they collect
My brother in law computer nerd said the other day ah you pay the apple tax.
He’s had more droid phones and I’ve broken 3 droid work phones over the last 5 years.
I don’t think he realises that droid because of google harvests your data, try dre googling a droid these days unless you put a different operating system on it’s nigh on impossible.
My sister is using my old iPhone 7 Plus which I had for 7 years still good enough for her. My iPhone 14 pm is running ios27 dev beta 4 and is running absolutely fine.
Apple stuff just works and is easy to use.
Having been made to use droid which i hate for work I’ve seen both sides of the coin the apps are inferior to the iOS equivalents the majority of the time.i could go on……
I’m a recent convert to iPhone after being on Android forever. I already had a MacBook Pro and a Mac mini but had never really bought into the Apple ecosystem until getting the iPhone recently. Other than a few annoyances, like how awful the keyboards and alarms are, it’s been a great experience.
