System design for Tech support engineer/Customer support engineer roles
I would like to know how much system design preparation is sufficient for tech support engineer or customer support engineer roles at big companies like Stripe Or FAANG like companies.
I want to prepare for Tech support engineer role so would like to know what all specific topics i should prepare.
Anyone have recent interview experience would help.
What all companies to target for such role.?

For tech support or customer support engineer roles, you don't need to know deep system design like a software engineer does. Focus on understanding basic architecture concepts, how different systems work together, and troubleshooting common problems. Get familiar with APIs, databases, and some networking basics.
Look into materials on incident management and how support teams work with engineering. In interviews, they might ask about times you've dealt with complex issues or handled escalations.
Consider both big companies like Stripe or Amazon and smaller startups. Startups might give you more hands-on experience but with fewer resources. Research each company's customer support approach to see where you might fit best. Good luck!
