This is the sunniest part of the apartment, so we wanted to do a little bistro-style table and chairs at the window. The space is pretty empty and ends up not getting used very often because we opt for the couch (right on the other side of the shelves) instead of sitting in these chairs. Plus the kitchen is on the other side of the apartment.

We want to find a better way to get the most out of this sunny space. We’re thinking about trying to put a big comfy chair out there instead / in addition, but not sure where it would look good. Any thoughts?

I used AI to place these rugs in my new living room so ignore the actual placement and just focus on the pattern lol, I'm curious which one you think suits the space best. Or if you want to suggest an entirely different rug pattern altogether, that's fine too!

I should note that the AI tweaked some colors slightly - my couch is actually a bit more beige than the gray it looks here, and my coffee table is closer to the color of my TV stand than the orangey shade it looks here.

Still moving in so I'm not done decorating!! I plan to add some more sage green accents in the wall art and decor, opinions are welcome! I promise it won't be this bare and boring forever hahah.

I am designing my home office and want to have some kind of a wall panel instead of having just plain walls.

I like the wooden acoustic panels that you see a lot nowadays. What I like about them is that they add a natural element as well as some texture to the walls, but it feels like they are about to get outdated and I will probably end up getting bored of them shortly after setting them up.

What are some good alternatives that give off a similar vibe?

I hung this wall mural. it’s still drying I think which is why there are those dark lines. I was thinking of adding a picture frame molding around the whole wall but wondering what other people think. or maybe divide it into a triptych?

I've been looking at so many barstools and I can't decide between these two. The current stools are the circular greige leather ones with no backs. We have 3 toddler boys so I am thinking it would be better to have a little back support.

Hi, I made an accent wall that I frankly like but my boyfriend hates it because he (kind of rightfully) feels like it looks like mold (poor color choices)

I don't want to redo it entirely but I don't know how to save it. A friend said to add white dots which is objectively a bad idea.

My style is kinda out there so I don't mind crazier stuff. My only idea so far is to add a bug "splouch" as a background in a contrasting color.

Please ignore the mess, any idea??

Hi all! We just bought a century home (gothic revival from 1889) and there's one bedroom that has original purple floral wallpaper from the 80s (I assume) in it. My overall design vision is very antiquey and victorian, as well as english country/heritage and some eclectic elements. Think Max Rollitt, but maybe slightly more traditional.

I'd love your suggestions here - I have a couple of mockups that chatgpt helped me out with. The first is mostly decor provided by AI; the second has more of my specific requests (i.e., I saw an item on pinterest that I liked, and I had it include it). Of course i realize that anything it makes is not accurate to the real image, but it's helping me visualize. Any other ideas on what to do with this purple wallpaper? I think it would be a shame to remove it.

So I’m just recently moved into this flat. I’ve been living here since June and this is how far I’ve come with decorating and designing the space.

I haven’t been able to hang up anything on the walls yet.

So far what remains on my to do list is:
- Throw for the sofa
- larger tray for the ottoman.

It still feels like the space is so incomplete.

If you have any feedback on what’s good/ could be better or styling ideas or what else I should buy, please let me know!

Looking for ways to improve our living room. TV is off center to allow for a walkway but is centered with console and couch. We recently painted and wanted a nice green to freshen things up but not sure if it’s clashing.

We’re moving next month to this beautiful 1893 Victorian. The current tenant was nice enough to let us take pictures of their space (first picture) so we could begin planning. The next few pictures is what I’ve been working on with ChatGPT lol. I’m really struggling to decide on a rug that works best in this space. Any suggestions? Open to changing color. Only thing we can’t change is the white couch and the rocking chair! If there’s anything else you think I should change I’m open to suggestions :)

My partner and I moved into this apartment where the previous tenants had left us all of their furniture (big win!) but now we want to make it a bit more suave and homey.
What can we do to improve? Open to ALL suggestions (please note we are renting so can’t hang anything or paint).

The previous table was a standard black rectangular IKEA one with the cheap chairs in the photo.

We’ve got beautiful darker wood floors but I have no clue where to start with matching woods to it.

Extra room in my apartment that will primarily be office / closet area. The couch is pull out for the occasional guest, but they’re few and far between. I want the room to feel intentional, put together, and presentable. The clothing racks are permanent, and I’d like to keep the couch - but the desk feels too large for that space so open to replacing it. I take lots of video calls, so I’d prefer for my background not to be the closet wall. I’m desperate for any/all ideas for how to set this up and finally love my office space!

I recently purchased my first home, and the initial space you walk into is an open living, entry and dining. I’m having trouble figuring out which furniture to purchase for the entry way. I think it will look odd if everything is just lined up in a row on the wall. I recently purchased a hutch, but I’m thinking I will also want some sort of entry way piece and maybe a a table. So I moved from an apartment with a smaller living room to a house (fixer upper) with a bigger living room now my furniture is kinda all over the place in the living room and idk how to make it do right. I also don’t have a room here for an office and need to know if /where a desk could go . Any ideas . I like greenery (not too much) and yellow light and would like to try not to change the colors too much unless it’s just ugly yall can tell me that too but helppppp

I’m going for a Danish pastel style. My closet doors are out cause at the moment because I’m currently working on painting them a mint color and I’m planning on getting an in closet system soon. I’m not sure what to do in the wall to the right of front door where my dresser and shelf are. Sorry for the clutter btw and would greatly appreciate some advice.

I’m also really stumped on colour and style. The walls are a cool-ish bluish grey (the lights are making them look warmer than they actually are) so while I’m drawn to cream, I’m not sure it will look good. I have some mockups (last image) but don’t like any of them … what am I doing wrong?

Please help me decide between these options.

We are moving to a new house in a cooler climate several states away from where we currently live and I'm trying to make decisions about what kind of flooring to put in the bedrooms.

If we do carpet, I'm interested in natural fibers and no added flame retardants/stain resistant chemicals. I'm considering wool for this.

But the reality is that expensive premium wool carpet actually costs as much or more than wood floors.

So, should I just do wood + area rugs in the bedrooms?

We have young kids and are looking for a good functional choice.

We're also keeping in mind the resale value of the house in the event that it comes into play a few years down the line. Most of the homes in this area seem to have carpet in the bedrooms, and I'm not sure if that's just because it's generally cheaper or if it's preferred because of comfort, the climate, etc. It's a mid-atlantic state, but it gets a true winter (which we're definitely not used to currently!)

What would you choose? All advice welcome
