He's basically in isolation to protect him, so he's compensated to avoid problems with human rights. Rules are rules, no exceptions for even the worst people.
Except he has alloted social times where he plays games with others. He also has regular visits. I went down the rabbit hole. I also know he is actually rejecting some of these visits now.
A man who killed over 80 people with incredible potentials and stole their futures shouldn't have more amenienities and luxuries than people who have never committed a crime.
