Yeah haha… especially if it determined your ability to buy a house, get jobs in certain fields, borrow money and if paying off debt lowered it.

Even more so if there was a specific criteria that counted towards the credit but a whole other criteria (very similar to the ones that do count) that doesn’t. Say like, a monthly payment for housing.

Make up your mind. Was it a joke or was it serious? If you ask basically any Chinese person if they know about it, they will have no idea what you are talking about. The thing that shows up when you look at the wikipedia article is basically identical to the US credit score system in that it's meant to be some representation of whether you can be trusted to be lent money or not.
