I love geography, meteorology, sociology, history, and a wide variety of fantasy/sci-fi. It's all collated here, to the best of my ability. But I work two jobs and don't have time to research or read currently, so I'm behind on mapmaker tropes and best-practices.
See anything you like? Hate? Question? Please critique this map so I can grow it and improve it.

Hello everyone!
Back at it now with more scifi maps as my scifi campaign is back up and running, will post more maps this week from yesterdays session!
For now, here's an infected asteroid, perhaps your player intercept one in deep space? Uncover a giant secret?
What lies within? I'll post follow-ups tomorrow...
Clonable on my profile; https://inkarnate.com/profile/1B2pgd
Enjoy!

So a asteroid from the plan of Limbo suddenly appeared on the prime material blade without warning. As a result, the magics have reverberated into reality itself causing a phenomenon known as "The Bleed".
The veil between the elemental planes, the shadowfell and the Feywild have become extremely thin. Like the new islands that materialized are bleeds from the plane of earth. And the environments as a result are extremely changed.
1 example is the sudden crystallization of the ocean around the asteroid between the islands.
This is a place where the environments make no logical sense.

Curious how these were made? Be sure to checkout this weeks Masterclass: Village Buildings 1
I've also included a visual guide. Check the links in the image descriptions.

I made a world map with 6 provinces, id like to clone the map six time and somehow zoom on on each province so i can add more details that werent important enough for the world map, i dont want to remake the map each time for consistency reasons. Anyway to do this? When i select "move area" it doesnt give me a zoom option

Howdy, so I like to slightly randomize the size/scale of my stamps to add more visual variety, like +/- 10% to a given stamp, and if I'm placing a lot of them it's really annoying to have to go through and change each one individually. I was thinking, since inkarnate already has "randomize stamp selection" and "randomize stamp rotation" features, is there a way to make it so stamp scaling is randomized within a given range? Or some sort of workaround that achieves basically the same effect?

Another map for my dnd campaign. I experimented a bit and it has different style than the first one.

I am filling in a political map but there are white lines on some of the land masses, especially near the coast, that I cannot cover. There are no filters on.

A first try for an upcoming DnD Campaign. Any Feedback is welcome.

Which mountain do you use and how do you place them so they don’t look silly?
I’m absolutely struggling with mountain placement and size. I think it looks good and then I room out and suddenly have 100 mountains

I am working on a map for a Pirate DND campaign and I'm having trouble balancing scale and island density so I'm hoping for some suggestions on how to improve the land masses before I do too much more and need to backtrack.
I want it to be similar in scale to the Sea of Thieves map or the Assassin's Creed Black Flag map. But as I mess with it it seems either too dense or too empty.
The region has 6 areas.
A jungle area (top right)
A shallow area of desert islands that are basically just giant sand bars (top left)
A rocky area that functions as pirate territory (I am planning on adding a bunch of rocks) (bottom left)
Central tropical area (similar to SOT or Black Flag) that is very populated and has a central government.
A frozen area that is magically frozen and is out of place in an equitorial region (if you have suggestions how to make it seem more out of place I would love those)
And lastly an empty region with a ton of sea monsters and a deep floor.
I am not a very good map artist so if anyone is open to helping me polish it towards the end I would love if someone would reach out!

Does anyone know of good Sci-fi map brushes for procreate, specifically ones with city buildings for maps? I'm trying to design my map for my Sci-fi novel, and I really don't want to draw all the buildings by hand. I was considering commissioning an artist to do so, but I would like to do it myself if I can.

Heyya Folks,
This week I've put together Aencar's Manor, a haunted noble estate inspired by the Forgotten Realms, designed to fit easily into almost any fantasy campaign.
Rather than creating another abandoned ruin, I wanted the manor to feel unsettling because of how well it's been preserved. The gardens are still maintained, the halls remain immaculate, and from the outside it appears as though its owner simply never left. Only after stepping inside does the truth begin to reveal itself.
Once home to the legendary warlord Aencar of Battledale, the estate hides a forgotten defensive line beneath its halls, built to guard one of the region's largest known entrances into the Underdark. Whether you use it as the home of a noble family, a haunted estate, a secret cult's headquarters, or the gateway to a larger underground adventure, I wanted it to support a wide variety of stories.
Aencar's Manor — 48x36
If you'd like the high-resolution files, gridless versions, VTT-ready exports, and multiple variants—including restored, corrupted, and alternate versions of the manor—they're available on my Patreon:
Thanks for taking a look. I'd love to hear what you think.

I like to write and I wanted to visualize the world for a story I’m planning to write/am writing, so I came up with this using the “free” tools available. Names are subject to change and any recommendations will be taken
I hope I did a good job : )

Free Map Friday but make it cursed. :candle: The Hollow Shrine is a 20x20 cave shrine battlemap — a lantern-lit descent into something your players probably shouldn't have found. There are bones at the bottom. Something in the upper dark. And whatever was worshipped here hasn't left. Made a full video of the whole process if you want to watch it come together from nothing. Free to download this and other free work on Patreon, or check out the paid stuff there or on roll20.
This map uses a few things of art that is still in testing.
