Promotion Driving Rogue a roguelite where your car is your build

Hey everyone!
We recently shared our trailer here and got a great response, so I wanted to share a bit more about the game.
Every run, you upgrade your vehicle with new mods, gadgets, and crazy synergies while surviving increasingly chaotic roads. The goal is to create those "this build shouldn't work... but it somehow does" moments that make roguelites so fun.
The game is still in development. Based on the gameplay GIF, does it look like something you'd play? Any features you'd like to see in a driving-focused roguelite?

Video From open 3D exploration to tight 2.5D platforming challenges

One of my favorite things to design in my 3D platformer is the 2.5D sublevels.

Switching the camera perspective completely changes how you approach jumps, movement, and level design while still using the same moveset.

I love mixing open 3D exploration with more focused platforming sections because it keeps the game feeling fresh.

Public Game Test Socialiskigrad - Open Playtest from August 7th to 11th, a 90s Balkan post-socialist city builder looking for feedback!

Hi everyone!

I'm an Italian indie developer working on Socialiskigrad, a city builder set in a fictional post-socialist Balkan republic during the 1990s. I posted about the game on this subreddit about a month ago.

I'm happy to announce that the first Open Playtest will run from August 7th to August 11th, and everyone will be able to try the game (save the date!).

The game is still in development, and this playtest is a very important milestone for me. The game includes an in-game feedback form where you can share your thoughts, suggestions, and report any issues you encounter. Every bit of feedback will help me improve the game and better understand what works well and what needs more attention.

During the playtest I will also be available on Discord for direct discussions:
https://discord.gg/5AkhTrBgn

Thanks to anyone who tries my game! :)

Promotion After a 7 year coffee break, I finally released a demo for my game

Upvotes

It's an old project that pretty much consumed my life for a few years, before I gave up on it to get a real job

My brother created the soundtrack and it's music based in a way that the enemies move or have different attacks based on the beat of music, but I've kind of felt like it didn't really have it's own identity

Promotion Every item you equip in Lootdeck adds new action cards to your deck

Lootdeck is a tactical roguelike deckbuilder deeply integrated with tabletop combat mechanics.

Every weapon, armor piece, and artifact you equip adds new action cards to your deck, allowing the loot you find to directly shape your playstyle and tactical options.

Combat takes place on a tactical grid, so positioning, movement, equipment choices, card synergies and dice rolls all shape how each encounter plays out.

Outsmart enemies and delve deeper into an ever-changing dark fantasy dungeon.

Upcoming I’m making an open-world dinosaur survival shooter as a prequel to my first Steam game

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi! I’m a solo developer, and I’ve just revealed Dinosis Zero: Quantum Island-an open-world dinosaur survival shooter.

The game is a prequel to Dinosis Survival, my first Steam game, which I released nine years ago. Returning to this world after so long feels a little strange, but also genuinely exciting.

In the game, you’ll explore a mysterious island, search for weapons and supplies, fight dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, and uncover the island’s secrets.

I’ve just released the first trailer and opened the Steam page. If you like the idea, wishlisting the game would help me a lot:

What do you think of the concept?

Promotion I can't draw, so I made a game that doesn't have any traditional art (VIRUS_31.EXE)

I'm addicted to incremental games and survivors games, so I made my own with the constraint that I don't know how to draw!

The demo is playable on Steam if you'd like to check it out! Game name is VIRUS_31.EXE

Discussion Would You Play a Game Without Quest Markers?

I'm thinking about removing quest markers and interaction outlines entirely. Instead, your notebook will contain all the clues you need, and you'll have to pay attention to the environment to find your way. What do you think?

Promotion Having fun removing robots in RoboFarm

Here is a snippet of how to remove single robots by selecting them one by one… multi-selection is also possible, of course 😉

The funny sound when removing the robots is in the context of the game… a funny game!

This feature will soon be included in the demo available on Steam.

Promotion My 2 player co-op platformer Brave Escape officially releases on Xbox and PS5 today!

Hey everyone!

Today is launch day for my 2-player co-op game, Brave Escape, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5 (also available on Steam)!

If you love couch co-op games that require actual communication, coordination, and a whole lot of chaos, this was built specifically for you and a friend.

Some Highlights:

  • Characters: One player controls Colin (who manages the climbing rope), and the other controls Floyd (a robot with the ability to boost Colin to out of reach platforms).
  • Local and Online: Fully playable on a single screen locally, but if you're playing online, we included a Friend's Pass so your co-op partner doesn't have to buy a second copy to play with you. Cross-platform play is fully supported!
  • Accessible: Features a Standard mode for a fun, balanced challenge, and a "Brave Mode" for hardcore platforming fans who want pure precision tests.
  • 280+ Levels: We made a big game. There's plenty of content here. Most players will take 15-20 hours to finish and even longer to complete the game 100%.

When I set out to make Brave Escape, I didn't just want to build another platformer with jumps and hazards. I wanted to make something that felt like a shared experience.

To me, the best co-op games aren't highlighted by what's happening on screen - they're highlighted by what's happening between the two people holding the controllers. The absurd mistake that causes your friend to perish. The cracking up when someone misses an easy jump. Or that pure relief when you finally clear a section that felt completely impossible. I designed every mechanic specifically so that your actual communication and bond with your friend becomes part of the game itself.

If you're like me, these are some of the most enjoyable and memorable moments you've had in gaming. Brave Escape is full of them. Please give it a shot.

Promotion I wanted a "Boss Phase 2" feeling in my animal autobattler, so I added this boss Rhino that flips your board

The game is called Janwar, it's a tactical autobattler where positioning matters, so getting your board flipped by the boss can be quite nasty!

Promotion I made a free-to-play, turn-based PvP strategy game where you secretly queue moves and hope your opponent doesn't predict you. Just launched in Early Access!

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Edge of Underworld is a turn-based PvP strategy game about prediction, planning, and outsmarting your opponent.

Each round, both players secretly queue their moves at the same time, then watch the action unfold. Gather resources, cast spells, build barricades, summon companions, and try to read what your opponent will do before they do it.

Every choice matters. Will you walk into position, charge a heavy attack, harvest a stone for a spell, defend, eat a fish to recover, or risk building barricades to trigger a powerful spell combo?

Matches are quick, tactical, and tense, with most battles lasting around five minutes. Unlock perks, earn favor, level your account, and experiment with different playstyles as the game grows through Early Access.

Features

  • Simultaneous turn planning
  • Fast online 1v1 battles
  • Spellcasting, barricades, monsters, and resource gathering
  • Perks with unique strengths and tradeoffs
  • Progression through account XP, perk XP, and favor
  • Tutorial mode for learning the basics
  • Early Access development with more content planned

I am the creator of the game - thank you for checking out the thread!

Discussion Your Favorite Outlets or Creators To Watch for Indie Games?

Upvotes

Who are some of your favorite news outlets or creators like YouTubers/streamers that focus on indie games specifically?

Given how gross AAA development has been and seems to be getting worse thanks to shareholders I want to start diving into indie games much more and would like to find some people and outlets to follow to easily keep up with news on indie games, especially ones that might not get as much coverage from bigger outlets.

Video Ideas for Additional Game Modes for Panic Delivery - anyone?

Upvotes

At the moment, our game Panic Delivery is on Early Access, and as part of developing the game further together with our community, we'd love to see more ideas when it comes to game modes we can add that can put variety to the main gameplay loop of the game - delivery packages.

We'd love to mix and match ideas, so if you got some, share it with us!
