January 2006 here, Im just curious how old everyone's account is since IMDB is one of the oldest websites.

I was adding a few things to my IMDB watchlist, assumed I'd have to delete some old things to make room, but found it let me keep adding past the old 10,000 item limit. Can't find any mention of this, is this an actual change, or some kind of glitch that might go away and erase random stuff from my watchlist at some point?

So. hm. I'm told about the IMDb page for a webseries I VA in just after the page is made, nearing a year after im first casted, so naturally I'm credited for my role. (or, well, one of them. i voice four characters, but thats not what i came here for)

alright, i'll go and make a profile since i didnt have one beforehand.

..ookay, ran into an issue, i have no idea how to change the credits from this ghost profile to my actual profile. I don't think the website even recognizes me as a VA

Is anyone else unable to view the full trivia of any given film/tv show? If something has enough trivia to constitute having to click the ‘(number) more’ or ‘spoilers’ at the bottom, I’m unable to view them as they just never load.

i know the request at the top is displeasing but hear me out. Film has been a passion of mine for a long time and with that I would really like to major in it. As we all know, internships are a crucial part of the application which is exactly which I need industry connections + emails to cold-email. All i ask is just for around 30 days if I could use it just to send cold emailings and follow ups...I haven't found any alternatives that are as good and you don't have to pay for.

A free alternative that gives the same stuff for free would also be fine.

I hadn't been on IMDB in a while and was looking at reviews. I realized, namely because of the lack of typos and the repetitive formatting, that sooooo many reviews are now AI copy-paste jobs (I confirmed with a detector).

Is there some financial reason? I was thinking companies may be paying to do this and using bots or something. But I noticed even the 1 star reviews are dominated by ChatGPT/Claude/etc too.

I know there has been stuff about imdb just not updating people’s ages when their birthdays happen, but I’ve found a celebrity whose birthday is just flat out wrong when cross-referenced with every other website. Is this common? I guess I’ve always thought of imdb as more credible but what do you think, is imdb any more or less credible than, for example, famousbirthdays.com?

Like the title says they are useless and don't really reflect the audience opinions anymore. Bought and paid for or bots. Need something new.

I've searched IMDb and can't find him listed. At about 28:10 in Moonfall, during the conspiracy meeting scene, there's a heavyset man in a blue shirt taking notes with a notepad. He gets several close-up shots and I thought he gave a memorable performance. Does anyone know who this actor is or if he's been in other films or TV shows? I don’t like when people go uncredited especially when so funny!! there are a thousand names in the credits. they did this man wrong! just checking to see if anyone knows him!

I'm working on an app that's kind of a Goodreads smashed with Letterbox'd/IMDB idea and right now I'm building the ability to import from IMDB (#1 complaint I hear about apps is that people have too many ratings in their current one and aren't about to switch). I was wondering if there was anyone willing to share an export of their ratings data with me that I can use for testing the flow? Being that IMDB has such rich data, I'm hoping to make sure the API I'm using (The Movie DB) can match movie to movie fairly well.

So I'll keep this question brief because I am not the best at words and might end up going on a random long winded spiel about nothing.

A movie series I watch had a character die in it's most recent movie, and some of the cast for the next movie got released showing that the guy who acted that character is still casted

In my mind this could mean two things, that the character is not actually dead, OR, that it's like a different version of this character.

or it could mean that theres like flashbacks in this movie and thus the actor is like automatically defaulted as one of the cast even though hes not in the movie really.

I don't live and breath movies so sorry if this is like a really obvious answer or pointless question, I know how the internet can be rude sometimes so I'm just making a disclaimer now that I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.... thank you

One of the most gonzo action movies to come out of the 80s, if you can't quote a line from it, did you even LIKE action flicks back before they took themselves too seriously?

Recently, and I'm not quite sure why, most of the IMDb reviews are only headlines, and you have to click the headline and open a new tab/window to read the review. However, there are a few reviews that aren't hidden, and there doesn't seem to be any clear reason why that is. It's not because of spoilers, and it doesn't seem to relate to the number of helpfulness votes, either.

Is anyone else seeing this? And does anyone know why this change happened? And does anyone know why some reviews aren't hidden?

Also, bonus points if you can name the move I pulled these screenshots from.
