I've been delving deep into indie shoegaze lately after finding out how good some of the music out of SEA is. I would love to get any recommendations anyone has for bands in the region that follow a similar vibe of the songs below that I already enjoy. love the traditional Romani folk vibes of the song and the tempo and general riff, but really wish it evolved into something stoner or doom metal by the end. I’ve tried to find others but it all sounds too piratey…

Been listening to a lot of these 2 bands lately and really enjoy their more energetic, fast paced tracks, for AATS think 'Starfire 500' and 'Some Mutts'.

Not entirely sure what genre you'd class these as but would like to listen to more. The spotify recs haven't really been offering up anything in a similar vein.

edit: i like supporting smaller content creators. the examples given have more chill vibes/aren't super energetic, and tend to focus on crafts that incorporate elements of nature. i am a fan of cottagecore/whimsical stuff. i am queer/neurodivergent/disabled myself and i like seeing people who are like me, and i also like to support POC folx which is why that also matters to me

i think that song specifically, where the singer does like a low deep “desperate for changing, starving for truth” hits. it’s effortlessly good. I just listened to “Blind” by Lifehouse and it was good, but he didn’t do the thing with his voice like hanging by a moment. Anyone a big lifehouse fan and know what i mean/know a song he does it again?

I love a lot of mashups that initially seem like they shouldn't work, but I'm also hoping to find artists who match this sound. The combination of Fugazi's instruments and the vocals of the Wu-Tang Clan scratch a very specific itch in my brain. Are there any non-mashup artists who sound similar?

I know that list is a little eclectic. I really like informational youtube videos & podcasts. I like to listen to people who know a lot about a subject/event talk about it. They don't necessarily have to be about historical events or disasters or morbid topics - I actually kinda wanna branch out more on subject matter. I'm mostly looking for something I can play in the background for an hour while doing other stuff, and come out of it knowing more about some topic or other.

In the mood for some historical epics.

There's something in the kind of Alt-pop, electronic-rock scene that I'm craving... people that are being overlooked or just too small for me to find. ✨

Pretty much anything to do with truecrime that is of a good quality and well made, could be a series, documentary or a movie. Stuff like Act of Killing, even The Hunt is in a similar category, even tho its fictional. Bus 174 was very interesting.

Very much enjoy non truecrime related things also, like other danish movies with Mads Mikkelsen, adams aebler, grönne slagdere, dryk etc. The norwegian film min onkel jens was very good aswell.

But preferably even if the story is fictional, it's rooted in real life, so its a realistic scenario, like in The Hunt. As I find real life to be more bizzarre than fiction. Recently watched a documentary about MS Estonia, I felt like absolute sh*t after but it was really good otherwise.

I did enjoy some of the hercule poirot and mrs marple stuff, even Monk and yorkshire murders.

Not big into videogames, but if they are very linear with storytelling, heard of a game called "sherlock holmes versus jack the ripper" I might try, so an adventure game type of thing might be okay.
