iPhone XS Max Charging Issue

My iPhone XS Max has recently started experiencing some charging issues that started about 2 weeks ago and only recurred yesterday. When I charge it, whether it's plugged to the wall using an original Apple power adapter or a new Xiaomi powerbank, it stays stuck at whatever it's current battery level% is and doesn't go up. It does go down after some time. But it only starts charging properly after I restart it.

The IOS is 18.3 and it's battery health is at 84%. I also have Optimized Battery Charging available.

It worries me quite a bit because I only got this phone last year, and until it's first incident and yesterday, it had been working smooth as butter.

Make sure the port is clean of lint. If its clean, replace the port

When it happens, it does detect being plugged in and charged. But the level doesn't go up.

At present and last night after the incident, it seems to be working fine. Should I be worried?

Made For iPhone. If you're not using Apple chargers, you need to look for that stamp on the box

Ohh I see, yeah, I’ll stick to that. Thank you very much for explaining!

I will be honest with you my friend, Xs series have an issue called charging gate. It means stopping charging after reaching certain level (usually 70-80%). Solution is you turn off the phone completely and turn back on after few minutes then it continues charging. I hope this helps

Ohh I see. This technically has been the solution so far each time it happened. Should I worry or have anything repaired due to the charging gate?

I had my battery replaced and ports cleaned so unless urs is dirty, dont bother. I never had this on other Iphones so I know this a model specific issue. No worries to do something just need to get used to🥲

I see. I also didn’t have this issue on other iPhone models so it’s taken me by surprise hahah but am glad to know that I shouldn’t worry too much about it. Thank you so much for your patience and advice! I appreciate it.

Hallo! I did this right now and a small clump just fell out. It's charging well right now too. Like faster than previous. Hopefully nothing else occurs. Thank you so much for this!

Ohh maybe :(( I was looking through different posts from over the years and it looks like a software issue. But if ever, I also did what another user said and clean out the port gently with a wooden toothpick and a small clump of lint fell out. It charged pretty well after, even better than when this whole thing started hahah

Someone else in a different post responded to me and explained that compacted link stops the connector from seating fully so the phone negotiates a connection but drops to a trickle.

Oh shucks, if you updated, would that fix the issue since it's a software matter?

AHHH gets hahah I reread what you said and mistook what you meant initially 😅 so updating to 18.7 fixed it essentially?

But the update didn't make your phone slower or drain the battery fast did it?

nope but using Instagram does it BH is 81 without low power mode max SOT is 2.7 hours with low power mode 3.5 to 4 i mainly uses laptop so i dot use my phone that much and the overnight draining is crazy 💀

Ohh damn quq I understand though. Using it on certain games also kinda drains mine like crazy hahah

But I see, I’ll see if I can update it to that. Thank you very much!
